Get a taste of where we live! The Redwood Canopy Tour is incredible! We recommend booking your tour in advance.
Ride a train through the redwoods, and even all the way to the beach boardwalk! This is a great activity for families or adults!
Think "amusement park on the beach meets arcade, mini-golf, bowling, food, and carnival!" This is an iconic location in Santa Cruz and a fun place for adults and kids!
There are a lot of restaurants and shops to explore downtown as well as fun people watching :)
Our favorite coffeeshop is Verve. There are 4 locations in Santa Cruz and they are all wonderful!
Their ice cream is unique and wonderful! This is also the location of one of our first dates! They have a location downtown and one on 41st--both are great. If you go to the 41st location, we recommend grabbing your ice cream (and a coffee at Verve next door) and walking down to the water and watching the surfers!
This is a classic Santa Cruz restaurant where you can get a slice of pizza and one of their iconic T-Shirts for just $6. We recommend the Capitola location where you can grab your pizza to go (there is not seating) and go sit on the beach just a few short steps away. Go for a stroll around Capitola Village while you are there and wander into the shops. It feels a bit like you are somewhere in Europe.
If you are looking for dining with a view, we recommend this spot. They have great food and this is perfect for a nice evening out. If you want a little more casual dining experience (and something easier on the wallet) we recommend going upstairs and eating in the Bar & Grill. Same great view and good food!
If you are looking for fine dining, then Shadowbrook is your spot. We ate here for our 6-month date-iversary and we loved it! We recommend reservations in advance. If you want something a bit more casual, then you can also hit The Rock Room for drinks, appetizers, and more casual entrees.
My favorite place to walk is along West Cliff where there are miles of paved paths overlooking the water. This is also the place where Andrew proposed! We also recommend checking out Natural Bridges State Park (where West Cliff dead ends).
If you want to see some huge redwood trees, we recommend visiting this place! The Redwood Loop path is perfect for kids and adults of all ages. It is a flat wide dirt path (handicap accessible) filled with lots of fun facts along the way as you gaze up at the huge trees!
Board a vintage 1900s Pullman train for captivating views of 1500-year-old, 250-foot-tall redwoods and the lively Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Explore outdoor boutiques and take in scenic ocean views before returning to the captain’s entertaining narration of California's history, landmarks, and other fun details.
Relive a piece of California’s history at the town of Roaring Camp—a re-creation of an 1880s logging town. This Wild West town offers a general store, logging camp, steam sawmill, and authentically dressed vendors. Enjoy a historic reenactment that brings the park's great treasure to life at the next door Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.
Soak in the sun on the open-air train down the Pacific Railway—opened in 1875 and one of the oldest lines in California—which offers a relaxing backdrop with rich sense of antiquity. Travel down the San Lorenzo River Gorge on the slowly moving train as you admire panoramic views full of endless photos opportunities.
Once you arrive at the Santa Cruz Beach, have a picnic on the beach, discover the wide variety of shops, or hang out with the sun-basking sea lions under the pier. Spend the afternoon exploring all that the boardwalk has to offer, and then board the bench-lined cars for your ride back to the redwoods.

This is our favorite local restaurant and it's right there in Felton! We recommend their pretzel board, beers, burgers, mac & cheese, and just about anything else!
Visit our church for a weekend service! Dave Drevecky (former player for San Francisco Giants) will be speaking on our wedding weekend and Trent Smith will be leading worship. Worship services are Saturday at 6pm and Sunday at 9:00 and 10:45am.
We love to go for walks here! We recommend the coastal loop -- beautiful views of the cliffs and water. The path is relatively flat, so do-able for a variety of people.
