Men: formal traditional (American) suits are appropriate. Head coverings are expected and can be provided by the Gurdwara (a large handkerchief or cloth can be used, hats are not acceptable).
Women: Wearing American clothing styles may be appropriate if adhering to strict modesty guidelines, including:
- A long dress extending past the knees
- Leggings underneath the dress covering the ankles
- Modest neckline, short or long sleeves
- Head scarf
- Socks or bare feet (there will be an area for storing shoes)
- Please avoid wearing all black/white outfits as that is typically worn for funerals/mourning.
