Q. How long will the Wedding Ceremony be at the Catholic church?
A. We will be having a full wedding mass. You can expect the ceremony to last about one and a half hours. We found this helpful blog that Non Catholics can use to learn more about the ceremony and the Mass.

Q. Are children invited?
A. We would love to welcome well-behaved children to the Welcome Party on Friday night. But please remember this is an elegant adult event with cocktails and servers maneuvering among the crowd. Children who are running around and not behaving appropriately will pose a danger to the servers and therefore they will be asked to leave. Any children who are not able to handle this kind of sophistication will not be comfortable. There will not be a space or opportunity for children to run around as if this were a child's party and we will ask you to keep your children with you during this party. Children attending the wedding ceremony will be expected to be able to sit quietly still and appropriate for the duration of the solemn ceremony which could last an hour and a half. If your child is not able to do this then you may wish to leave them home.
The reception following the wedding is an adult party.
Older Children who may be close relatives and the children i who have a role in the ceremonies are welcome, but we humbly request that your children behave as they would in an adult only event. There will be alcohol served.
Q. What are the event hotels?
A. Please also refer to the "Travel" tab. We have blocks of rooms saved at the Hilton President (directly across from the reception venue) and at Hotel Kansas City (one block away from the reception). There are a lot of hotels within a very short distance if neither of these locations works for you.
Q. What does the dress code "Black Tie" mean?
A. This is a very formal event, and we invite women to wear long gowns and encourage the men to be in a dark (black or navy) suit and tie. A tuxedo is not required.
Q. Is everyone invited to the Welcome Party on Friday Night?
A. Absolutely! We are so excited for our friends to meet our families and for everyone to have an opportunity in a cocktail party setting to enjoy networking and visiting. Well-behaved children are invited to this event if you are traveling with children, but be advised we will be serving alcohol as it is an Adult Party. Please see our notes above concerning children. The Welcome Party will take place immediately following the Rehearsal Dinner, which is for those who are a part of the Wedding Party.
Q. What is the dress code for the Welcome Party?
A. The welcome party dress code is formal/cocktail attire. We suggest suit jackets for the men and cocktail dresses for the women.
