Evan & Hayley

Tuesday, May 5, 2026 • Vero Beach, FL
Their story began when they were fifteen years old at a Monday night Bible study. Hayley was playing volleyball with a friend when Evan arrived, and he immediately caught her attention. Later that night, curiosity led her to look him up on online, where she noticed many of his posts were from North Carolina. With the help of her best friend—and devoted wingwoman—Daniela, she began learning more about him.
They crossed paths again at a church workday raising funds for upcoming mission trips and were placed in the same group. By the end of the day, Hayley felt comfortable enough to message Evan about an inside joke they had shared, and his reply marked the beginning of something more.
That first message turned into daily conversations, and they quickly grew close. Hayley soon learned that Evan did indeed live in North Carolina, but that he and his family spent part of each year in Florida because their father worked as a commercial fisherman. Being homeschooled, they were able to travel during those months, allowing Hayley and Evan to have met.
During that season, they shared many memorable moments together but soon Evan would have to return home.
Distance eventually proved challenging. After some time apart, unsure how to make long distance work long-term, their relationship came to an end. Though it was painful at first, they remained friends. Over the next several years, they stayed in touch and grew individually, yet the connection they shared never fully disappeared.
Four years later, Hayley decided to visit Evan in North Carolina during the week of her twentieth birthday, with Daniela once again by her side. Within the first couple of days, it was clear their feelings for each other were still very much alive. On May 5th, 2023, they officially began dating again.
Today, Hayley and Evan are living the dreams of the two teenagers who once feared distance would keep them apart. They feel incredibly blessed to have found their way back to one another and are confident that God guided their journey every step of the way.
