Our Wedding

On&nbsp;July&nbsp;12,&nbsp;2023,&nbsp;two&nbsp;young&nbsp;people&nbsp;exhausted&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;world&nbsp;of&nbsp;dating&nbsp;apps&nbsp;decided&nbsp;to&nbsp;give&nbsp;it&nbsp;one&nbsp;more&nbsp;try&nbsp;before&nbsp;taking&nbsp;a&nbsp;break.&nbsp;Little&nbsp;did&nbsp;they&nbsp;know,&nbsp;John&nbsp;D.&nbsp;McGurk's&nbsp;Irish&nbsp;Pub&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Garden&nbsp;would&nbsp;be&nbsp;the&nbsp;start&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;relationship.&nbsp;After&nbsp;several&nbsp;drinks&nbsp;and&nbsp;many&nbsp;hours&nbsp;of&nbsp;conversation,&nbsp;the&nbsp;waitress&nbsp;asked&nbsp;them&nbsp;to&nbsp;close&nbsp;their&nbsp;tab&nbsp;because&nbsp;the&nbsp;kitchen&nbsp;was&nbsp;closing.&nbsp;They&nbsp;decided&nbsp;to&nbsp;take&nbsp;the&nbsp;party&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;patio&nbsp;outside&nbsp;to&nbsp;continue&nbsp;to&nbsp;get&nbsp;to&nbsp;know&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;and&nbsp;catch&nbsp;a&nbsp;little&nbsp;bit&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;SC&nbsp;City&nbsp;game&nbsp;that&nbsp;was&nbsp;playing.&nbsp;After&nbsp;a&nbsp;few&nbsp;more&nbsp;drinks,&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;disappointing&nbsp;City&nbsp;loss,&nbsp;Tim&nbsp;worked&nbsp;up&nbsp;the&nbsp;courage&nbsp;to&nbsp;steal&nbsp;a&nbsp;kiss&nbsp;and&nbsp;Faith&nbsp;began&nbsp;to&nbsp;steal&nbsp;his&nbsp;heart. The&nbsp;weeks&nbsp;that&nbsp;followed&nbsp;were&nbsp;a&nbsp;flurry&nbsp;of&nbsp;mini&nbsp;golf,&nbsp;arcade&nbsp;games,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Cajun&nbsp;food.&nbsp;On&nbsp;August&nbsp;3rd,&nbsp;2023,&nbsp;the&nbsp;day&nbsp;Faith&nbsp;started&nbsp;her&nbsp;new&nbsp;job,&nbsp;she&nbsp;met&nbsp;up&nbsp;with&nbsp;Tim&nbsp;before&nbsp;heading&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;airport&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;girl's&nbsp;trip&nbsp;to&nbsp;New&nbsp;York.&nbsp;She&nbsp;decided&nbsp;starting&nbsp;a&nbsp;new&nbsp;job&nbsp;wasn't&nbsp;enough&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;major&nbsp;life&nbsp;change,&nbsp;so&nbsp;she&nbsp;also&nbsp;agreed&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;Tim's&nbsp;girlfriend.&nbsp; Time&nbsp;passed&nbsp;and&nbsp;major&nbsp;milestones&nbsp;happened&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;blink&nbsp;of&nbsp;an&nbsp;eye:&nbsp;meeting&nbsp;each&nbsp;other's&nbsp;family&nbsp;and&nbsp;friends,&nbsp;vacations,&nbsp;and&nbsp;eventually&nbsp;moving&nbsp;in&nbsp;together.&nbsp;Before&nbsp;they&nbsp;knew&nbsp;it,&nbsp;it&nbsp;was&nbsp;almost&nbsp;two&nbsp;years&nbsp;together&nbsp;and&nbsp;Tim&nbsp;made&nbsp;the&nbsp;smartest&nbsp;decision&nbsp;of&nbsp;his&nbsp;life&nbsp;to&nbsp;get&nbsp;down&nbsp;on&nbsp;one&nbsp;knee&nbsp;and&nbsp;ask&nbsp;Faith&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;his&nbsp;wife.&nbsp;Then,&nbsp;Faith&nbsp;made&nbsp;the&nbsp;smartest&nbsp;decision&nbsp;of&nbsp;her&nbsp;life&nbsp;and&nbsp;said&nbsp;yes.

We’re planning to head to this area after the reception concludes.

Here are some of our recommendations of our favorite spots in and around St. Louis! 1. <a href="https://www.anniegunns.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Annie Gunns</a> - This is where we ate the night we got engaged! A fine dining experience with a casual atmosphere. (Side Note: The former executive chef is now the chef who runs our reception's menu.) 2. <a href="https://www.mcgurks.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">McGurks</a> - Our first date spot! A laid-back restaurant and bar with a beautiful outdoor garden patio. 3. <a href="https://www.magpiesonmain.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Magpie's Cafe</a> - Located on Main Street St. Charles, this restaurant has a patio. Stop for a bite and take a stroll down Main Street.

This time of year, you will see St. Louis starting to reach peak Oktoberfest festivities! Below are just a few of the events going on. 1. <a href="https://www.discoverstcharles.com/things-to-do/main-street/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">St. Charles Historic Main Street </a>- We can't tell you how much we love strolling down these streets. From tasting the oils and vinegars at Di Olivas, to popping into the various shops along the street, to participating in the various festivals and street wide activities throughout the year (hi, Oktoberfest!), we have never had a bad time here. More info to come on Oktoberfest celebrations that will be taking place during our wedding weekend if you have time and want to stop by! 2. <a href="https://stlzoo.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">St. Louis Zoo</a> - Our city's beautiful zoo is free to enter and full of amazing animals! If you stop by, you'll also see Zootoberfest in full swing. The zoo is located in Forest Park, which also has the Art Museum and the History Museum, which are also free!
