Imagine growing up in a neighborhood your whole life not knowing the person you will end up marrying lives just across the street. You’d think at some point growing up in the same neighborhood you would cross paths... Nope! Can you guess how we found each other? That’s right, Soccer! ⚽️ (Who would have thought) This is our story…

One night, I noticed a new girl at the indoor soccer facility I played at every Sunday for the past 10+ years. Of course the cute soccer chick immediately caught my eye. I decided to play it cool for a little. You know, let my soccer skills do the talking. Wait for HER, to notice ME. Not sure if that worked because she never said anything to me or even looked my way, or so I thought... But I was determined and ready to make my move after a couple of weeks of playing it cool. Of course I was immediately rejected but it didn’t stop me! (Spoiler alert, she likes me by the end of the story).

As the weeks went by, I convinced her to join my soccer team. We got to know each other a little better. Unbeknownst to either of us, we grew up and still were living in the same neighborhood just a street away from each other but later found this out the more we spoke and hung out. (What a small world we live in, I know)

Eventually, I gained her trust to take her on a couple of dates and to meet my dog, Annie. (This was a big deal because she loves dogs) I am convinced that if it wasn’t for my dog I’d still be single. Shout out to Annie 🐶.

Anyway, we hit things off pretty quickly. Had similar interests, views on life and childhood upbringings but we were still just the right amount of different from each other to make things interesting. I could tell she was a genuine loving person and I guess she thought the same about me because here we are, getting married and starting a life!

As this chapter of our story comes to a close, I look forward to the next chapter of life together in matrimony and more soccer! Cheers 🥂
