Emmaline and I met at Carson-Newman through a class that we had together, though we weren’t really close until about a year into our friendship. There was a spot on campus that both of us (unknowingly) would spend time individually reading, praying, writing, or just spending time alone. Some times we’d run into each other in this place and end up doing these things together. As the Lord allowed our paths to cross, we started getting to know each other, and quickly started spending time together.
These pictures are from Max Patch mountain, the first place we ever went together (yes she is wearing my hat). Emmaline planned a trip with all the girls from her Bible study, and invited some guy friends too. We read scripture and sang songs together, and it was a really sweet beginning for our relationship… Max Patch is also the place that I proposed to Emmaline back in August.
There is obviously so much more to share about our story up until this point, but if I had to put it all in one word, it would have to be “eucatastrophe.” It was always what was supposed to happen, but I never saw it coming. I am so thankful that the Lord has given me Emmaline, and we are both so excited to live the rest of our lives together.

This is where I proposed… shout out to whoever read this much.
