Turks can be a bit expensive, so here are some tips and tricks you may want to consider when traveling.
The island IMPORTS EVERYTHING, meaning there are higher taxes and import fees on things that we don't pay in the US. So your favorite bag of snacks may be $8.
If you don't want to pay this on the island pack your own snacks.
Buy alcohol at duty free or pack your own. Customs allows 1L of alcohol per person, duty free into the island. I would buy alcohol at the duty free store before you board your plane to Turks or on your connecting flight.
You have the option to rent a car or take a taxi to get around the island. Beware if you rent a car, they drive on the left side of the road and they don't have any stop signs or traffic lights. We are staying in a tourist area so there is a lot of places within walking distance. Our hotel also offers FREE electric bikes for use. Taxis can be a bit pricey, so I have a list of some that I can share that offer discounts.
Here is the link for the round trip airport transfers it is $40 per person for a shared ride or $240 for a private van or SUV.
