We have reserved a hotel block at the DoubleTree Hotel-North Charleston Convention Center. Currently there are 20 rooms available. Once these have been filled, they will offer an additional ten rooms at a time. We have secured a rate of $149.99 per night in which you can choose between a Standard King or Standard Double Queen Room. This includes a complimentary shuttle to and from the Charleston International Airport and a complimentary hot breakfast daily. The rate of $149.99 will be offered for the following dates- Tuesday March 7, 2017 through Tuesday March 14, 2017. In order to get this rate you must make your reservation by February 13, 2017. This is the local airport in Charleston. It is located about five minutes from the DoubleTree Hotel-North Charleston Convention Center, eighteen minutes from Magnolia Plantation and about fifteen minutes from downtown Charleston.
For those of you who prefer to rent a car, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National are all located within the Charleston International Airport. Taxis, Lyft and Uber are also convenient ways to get around the Charleston area.
For those guests staying at the DoubleTree Hotel-North Charleston Convention Center, complimentary transportation is provided to and from the Charleston International Airport in addition to the Tanger Outlets.
Furthermore, we have reserved a party bus to transport guests to and from the DoubleTree Hotel- North Charleston Convention Center and Magnolia Plantation the day of the wedding, March 11. The shuttle for guests will depart the DoubleTree Hotel-North Charleston Convention Center promptly at 4:10 pm on Saturday to go to Magnolia Plantation Carriage House. Guests taking the shuttle will be dropped off by 4:35 pm.

If you want to tour the plantation during your stay in Charleston, just mention the Mechler/ Nguyen wedding and your admission fee ($15-adults & $10 children) is waived. This does not include the add on tours.
Please remember it's allergy season in Charleston. Pollen from trees and flowers is especially high this time of year. Allergy medicine is best taken 12 hours prior to being exposed to allergens. It is recommended to take allergy medicine a full day in advance before exposure and then daily.
Ceremony and reception will be held at the Carriage House.
Parking is located at either the Carriage House Parking or Bus and RV Parking (see map below).
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Please allot 20 minutes to get from the entrance of the plantation to the Carriage House. The attire is semi-formal (Men: Suit and Tie, Women: Cocktail dress). Military member attire is choker whites for Navy or service dress equivalent for all other branches.
The cocktail hour will be immediately following the ceremony. The reception will begin around 6:30 pm. The bride and groom send-off will be at 10:30 pm. The shuttles back to DoubleTree Hotel- North Charleston Convention Center will leave promptly at 10:40 pm. All other guests will need to leave by 10:45 pm.
The rehearsal will be on the Veranda lawn at Magnolia Plantation from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on Friday, March 10 for the bridal party and immediate family only.
The rehearsal dinner will be at the DoubleTree Hotel-North Charleston Convention Center in the Wilson Ballroom on Friday, March 10 at 6 pm. The attire is semi-formal. Invitation only.
