It’s amazing how life has a way of surprising us with unexpected turns and relationships that blossom when we least expect them. Dylan and I grew up together, attending elementary, middle, and high school. Though I was a grade ahead, we shared many high school events and had a shared passion for SG FFA and Hunter Safety. Looking back at old photos, it’s ironic how we always seemed to end up side by side, even though our paths didn’t truly cross back then.
If someone had told me back then that I’d marry Dylan Caveness, I would’ve laughed out loud! At the time, he was the wild child, always getting into trouble, and I was the quiet, rule-following girl. But as I came to know him, I quickly discovered that behind his tough exterior was a kind-hearted teddy bear.
Years later, it was deer hunting that brought us together. One evening, while sitting in our deer stands, we started texting—and we haven’t stopped talking since. That night, I discovered Dylan’s sweet side, and he swept me off my feet. We became best friends, and the love we share is truly unmatched.
I believe God had this plan all along, and for that, I’ll always be grateful.
