Brian and Jill met through a dating app, as most of the kids do these days. Brian first liked a photo of Jill's Jeep and that led to multiple paragraph messages back and forth bonding over shared interests in the outdoors, off-roading, dogs, and board games. Their first date was in May 2020, during the covid pandemic. They brought their own camping chairs and a couple beverages to have a socially distanced date at the Ranch park, so it only felt fitting to come full circle and also hold their wedding at the Ranch where it all started.

In an effort to throw Jill off the scent of anything special happening and ensure it was a surprise, Brian popped the question in January 2024 in their living room. It's the same place he asked her to be his girlfriend years earlier, and the same room they've spent countless days getting to know each other and talking into the wee hours of the morning about everything imaginable. Their dogs, Zoey and Otis, were there to cheer them on and they celebrated afterward with some indoor mini golf.
