aka The Hulk. God has blessed me with a brother like no other. Though I don't need to look up to him physically, I do get to look up to his maturity and wisdom. Jim works hard and cares deeply for those in his life, and he represents a pattern that I am so grateful God has given me in my Groomsmen. He is fiercely loyal, firm on his convictions, and submits everything to God's Word.
Theresa Lam - Maid of Honor
My one and only sister, my built-in best friend, Theresa and I have shared so many crazy memories and sweet times growing up, from playing with all our stuffed animals (we still have over two hundred) to kicking around soccer balls in the backyard. Theresa is a charcuterie connoisseur, enjoys thrifting and decaf coffee, and loves the Lord! I am grateful to call her my sister!
Connor Riley - Groomsman
Friends since childhood, God has given me a friend to grow up with. From our silly childhood stories to standing firm on Definite Atonement, Connor is a faithful friend. What makes Connor so faithful is that he is first and foremost a slave of Christ and a slave to whatever is written in His Holy Word. I have been so blessed to be humbled by the discipline and mind of this friend, but even more so, I have been spurned onto holiness by his conduct and conversation.
Abby Alban - Bridesmaid
Abby and I met working at River Valley Ranch camp together. On our first weekend, we got stranded at a sketchy laundromat downtown and got Popeyes together afterwards. After that, I knew we would be good friends! Abby is passionate about Jesus, nursing, hockey, ducks, pink drinks, and mario kart. From studying in the library together to going to pilates, she constantly has taught me how to have joy and peace! She's sweet, loyal, down to earth, and funny, and I am so grateful for her!
Caleb Comstock - Groomsman
Caleb is the combination of the musical talent of Bob Kauflin and the wit, awe, and godliness of Brett Comstock. The Lord has abundantly blessed me with a friend who is vulnerable and honest, but also someone who will not rest until his beliefs are in line with Scripture. I praise God that Caleb has been a fierce defender of Truth alongside me, and I often stand in awe of how the Lord takes wildly different routes to teach him. It has all been pure joy with him.
Anna Grawunder - Bridesmaid
My roommate every year since freshman year, Anna has been a steadfast, caring, and dear friend--a true gift from the Lord that I really do not deserve. There is nobody else I'd rather eat walmart rotisserie chicken with at midnight, build a Christmas tree from scratch with twigs, or simply decompress on the floor and eat popcorn. Anna always puts others before herself. She is thoughtful, kind, wise, and encouraging, and she always is willing to hear my woes. I love her deeply!
Adin Sumner - Groomsman
Sumneroos. A chief delight when I think back to youth group. I have been blessed to see this man mature and grow. Now, I am blessed to learn from him and admire his godliness. Adin has been and will continue to be a fun friend who may sometimes say things in the most beautifully clumsy way, but he will also continue to be someone who exemplifies zeal and gentleness in a God-honoring way.
Audrey Hendricks - Bridesmaid
I met Audrey freshman year, bonding initially over similar biomedical classes. However, our friendship quickly deepened, and we became fast friends through being lab partners, studying in the library together, and going on adventurous hikes. Audrey brings out my crazy side and constantly pushes me outside my comfort zone. She is a constant, hilarious, wise, and dependable friend that I do not deserve. And she loves others well in a way that reflects the love of Christ. I am so grateful for her!
Caleb Webb - Groomsman
Few people earn great nicknames that last, but even fewer have the moxy to edit their nickname after receiving it. Here, I praise God for Wampus. A friend who earns the name "Caleb" for no one else would regularly stay up from 11 pm to 1 am to hear my woes, but Caleb has done it both in person at Liberty and over the phone during breaks. And I thank God that this man who would listen to me was ever-faithful to give godly advice.
Danielle Jones - Bridesmaid
Danielle and I met on the honors hall my freshman year. She is a sweet, steadfast friend who never fails to make me laugh! I can also always count on her for godly wisdom and advice. Whether discussing conspiracy theories, watching the office, or planning our compound together (we are planning to raise forty children total), time spent with Danielle has always been such a delight, and she is someone you can talk to and always leave feeling encouraged.
Ernesto Jose Ugona - Groomsman
The first day I met Ernesto, all the college friends invited him to join us on a picnic. I, being far too comfortable with people, got tired and laid my head onto Ernesto. Little did I know that this was the beginning of a blessed friendship. Ernesto is a man of the church, and he is never afraid to call me out if any of my practices are out of line with Scripture or are misguided by my zeal. And he would have had plenty of options to see that, since he was my roommate for two years.
Andrea Hernandez - Bridesmaid
The best worksite partner ever, Andrea and I met in Puerto Rico serving on GenSend together. She is a hardworking, driven friend and I admire her endlessly. Andrea has taught me so much through her love for the Lord and her desire to serve others, especially those in need. She also know super cool food spots in literally every single city, helped me get my Library of Congress card (FINALLY), and can network like nobody else--she spoke at the U.N. headquarters this past year! I am so excited to see what the Lord does in her life.
Mitchell Hazen - Groomsman
The other roommate with Ernesto and me, Mitch made coming back to the dorm a joy. From yelling "hombre grande!" to calling my car "The Detroit Express Chugga-Chugga," Mitch made every day a delight. But the joy was not merely in jokes, I have met few people in the world who pursue God and have a fervent desire to obey Him like Mitch. It was those conversations that have and will continue to bring me joy.
Kimberly Williams - Bridesmaid
I met Kimberly, aka Kimberslay, in Puerto Rico as well, and we quickly become good friends! She is sweet, goofy, down to earth, and super hilarious; I also admire how intentional she is with every single person she meets! Whether going on runs together or talking about the Lord, time with Kimberly is always a delight and joy, as she constantly pushes me closer to Christ. Fun fact: she currently teaches Spanish at a local high school—and I can’t wait to see how the Lord uses her position as a platform for the Gospel!
Tyler Law - Groomsman
A man of God. Wise beyond his years, Tyler has exemplified to me what gentleness looks like. He is slow to speak, but every word is gold because he only speaks firmly on what the Bible says. Observing how he leads his family and cares for his wife has taught me more than a multitude of books can, but even better is when I get to sit down with him and hear how it all springs from the love of Christ poured forth in his life.
Kendall Gregory - Bridesmaid
She's funny, sarcastic, and loves the Lord! She's also the best chef and baker around town anywhere. I admire how passionate Kendall is about serving refugees and special needs children. Excited to gain a sister-in-law soon!
