Eric and I met through our careers in law enforcement. Shocker, I know! Lol Back in 2015, around May time frame, I was working at Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, and he was working at State Police. We were both working night shift, and one night, I investigated a hit and run crash, and the suspect was drunk! It was my first arrest of an impaired driver, and I had no idea what I was doing! I was still pretty new in law enforcement. My lieutenant at the time called Eric to come help me with all the paperwork because nobody on my shift knew what to do. Eric showed up and helped me with all the paperwork, and I was so thankful because ya girl was really stressed. Lol Ever since that night, I had a special place in my heart for him because he had so much patience with me. Days and weeks go by, and during another night shift, I get sent to assist him on a traffic stop. When I pulled up, he asked me to stay with the driver while he drove down the street to see what item the driver threw out the window. He had pulled the person over for littering. So I stayed with the driver, and after Eric came back, he walked out of his unit with his campaign hat on. (I refer to it as the mount me hat) lol It was at that moment that I thought to myself, this man is actually handsome! Ever since that day, I was attracted to him physically. The mental and emotional attraction grew later.

My feelings for him grew as the months went on, and during the summer of 2017, we briefly dated. He had finally come around, y'all! But sadly for me, our relationship didn't last long, and I was heartbroken when he broke up with me!

Despite my heart getting broken, we remained friends and life carried on between us. We both dated other people, but my love for him never wavered.

Fast forward to May of 2022, I noticed little changes with Eric's attitude towards me, but in a great way! We were texting more, and he was being really, really sweet to me. In the back of my mind I was thinking, I hope this man is finally falling in love with me! Lol

Well, my patience paid off because one night, while talking and sitting on his bed, he came out and told me that he loved me. At that moment, my dream of Eric and I being together forever, I knew that it had finally come true.

We became "official" on June 1, 2022, and since that day, we've been inseparable.

March 5, 2023, he proposed to me at Cafe Sydney Mae in Breaux Bridge, in front of my parents and our daughters. It was truly the easiest "yes" ever.
