Jose and Mayra met in 2016 in San Marcos, TX. Jose had just graduated in 2015 and was awaiting his next step in life when he met Mayra at Lowe’s where they were both working at the time. They hit off an immediate friendship and their first official hangout as just friends was at the infamous Texas State Square with a night out. This would not be the start of their love story just quite yet, but it would be start of their story.

José y Mayra se conocieron en 2016 en San Marcos, TX. José acababa de graduarse en 2015 y estaba esperando su siguiente paso en la vida cuando conoció a Mayra en Lowe's, donde ambos trabajaban en ese momento. Se llevaron bien de inmediato y su primer encuentro oficial como solo amigos fue en la infame Texas State Square para salir por la noche. Este no sería el comienzo de su historia de amor todavía, pero sí sería el comienzo de su historia.

Jose would soon leave San Marcos and move to Kyle to pursue his career. Mayra would stay back and finish her degree at Texas State University. While the two were now in two different places, they stayed good friends, they would hangout here and there. From 2016-2019 lots would happen within this friendship. The two continued to catch up with one another here and there through texts, calls, hangouts, and lots of hellos, there was also just as many goodbyes between them.

José pronto dejaría San Marcos y se mudaría a Kyle para seguir su carrera. Mayra se quedaría y terminaría su carrera en la Universidad Estatal de Texas. Si bien los dos estaban ahora en dos lugares diferentes, seguían siendo buenos amigos, pasaban el rato aquí y allá. Del 2016 al 2019 pasarían muchas cosas dentro de esta amistad. Los dos continuaron poniéndose al día aquí y allá a través de mensajes de texto, llamadas, quedadas y muchos saludos, también hubo muchas despedidas entre ellos.

By April of 2019, Jose asked Mayra out to a Strawberry Festival in Poteet, this particular moment seemed to always standout to Mayra as being the moment that changed it, this is where they realized that their friendship was no longer just a friendship and the need to pursue more became apparent.

Shortly there after Jose and Mayra would start officially dating, from their own words, it was easy, it was natural, they felt better together than they did apart. By the end of 2019 Jose would ask Mayra to move to Kyle with him and at the start of the new year of 2020 the couple would be living together! In 2020 the world began to shut down, but Jose and Mayra began a beautiful new chapter and survived the pandemic together as a new couple, they would never again live apart after this. By 2021 Jose and Mayra would have found their forever home right there in Kyle Texas, no more than 10 minutes away from San Marcos Texas where it all began.

Poco después José y Mayra empezarían a salir oficialmente, según sus propias palabras, era fácil, era natural, se sentían mejor juntos que separados. ¡A fines de 2019, José le pediría a Mayra que se mudara con él a Kyle y al comienzo del nuevo año 2020 la pareja viviría junta! En 2020 el mundo comenzó a cerrarse, pero José y Mayra comenzaron un nuevo y hermoso capítulo y sobrevivieron a la pandemia juntos como una nueva pareja, nunca más vivirían separados después de esto. Para el 2021, José y Mayra habrían encontrado su hogar definitivo allí mismo en Kyle Texas, a no más de 10 minutos de San Marcos Texas, donde todo comenzó.

During the year of 2023 Jose knew Mayra was the one and he began planning for months the perfect proposal. By February 2024 and with the help of some of their close friends Jose had planned a beautiful dinner, near the mountains of Colorado Springs, the sunset was magical, and the views were breathtaking. Jose got down on one knee and with the most loving eyes asked Mayra who was completely speechless if she would marry him, she said YES! Of course, and that brings us here today!

Durante el año 2023 José supo que Mayra era la indicada y comenzó a planificar durante meses la propuesta perfecta. Para febrero de 2024 y con la ayuda de algunos de sus amigos más cercanos, José había planeado una hermosa cena, cerca de las montañas de Colorado Springs, la puesta de sol era mágica y las vistas impresionantes. José se arrodilló y con los ojos más cariñosos le preguntó a Mayra quien se quedó completamente sin palabras si se casaría con él, ella dijo ¡SÍ! ¡Por supuesto, y eso nos trae aquí hoy!

Jose and Mayra live in their forever home in Kyle Tx. They are both college graduates and continue to lead very successful careers, they share together two beautiful dogs Lola and Oro. They continue to pursue their dreams and are surrounded by friends and family that have been apart of their fairytale love.


José y Mayra viven en su hogar definitivo en Kyle Tx. Ambos son graduados universitarios y continúan llevando carreras muy exitosas. Comparten dos hermosos perros, Lola y Oro. Continúan persiguiendo sus sueños y están rodeados de amigos y familiares que han sido parte de su amor de cuento de hadas.
