Two months prior to meeting.. Kara happened to see Dustys profile on Facebook and asked Calyn about this Dusty guy she was friends with. Calyn said they were friends but forgot to mention he was single and a great guy and maybe we should meet.


Dustys story... Dusty has known Dustin Novacek also known as Dud, Little Dog or LD for about 25 years. Every Sunday night Dusty would stop at Dud and his girlfriend Calyns house for dinner on his way back into town from the lake. This particular Sunday Dud and Calyn were having a 1st birthday party for their dogs, Traegger and Brisket. Dusty spent the whole weekend snowmobiling at the lake, drove to town to clean up and get cheeseburgers for Dud and Calyns other dog Hank. Dud and Calyn had forgot to mention to Dusty that Kara was coming, but they had told him they invited their nanny and she was coming. The whole night Dusty assumed I was the nanny.


Karas story... Kara has known and been friends with Calyn for 8 years. The night before the dog party Dud, Calyn and Kara were all at a birthday party for her niece. They invited me to their dogs birthday party the next night, and once again failed to mention a cute single guy was going to there. The day of the party, I taught a paddle board workout class in a pool and then met a friend for coffee. Which ran late and I did not have time to go home and clean up so I showed up in my sweats, hair a hot mess and walk in to see Dusty at the top of the stairs. Totally embarrassed I figured I had to go in and couldnt leave to change so I go upstairs and say hi.
It was a fun birthday party and fun hanging out with friends. for the night, Dusty even tried the dogs birthday cake. At the end of the night when I was leaving Dusty goes to his coat and pulls out the two cheeseburgers he had gotten for Hank and I thought it was so cute he brought the old man food.


The following week Calyn came in for a massage and during the massage we were talking about Dusty and I started asking questions and she asked if she could give him my phone number. Once Dusty realized I wasnt the very young nanny he agreed and texted me a week later.


Our first date... Our first date was more like an interrogation because Dusty was so nervous he only talked when I asked him questions lol.


Fast forward to a couple months later.. After a garage sale on a Friday night Dusty had helped us clean up and was hanging out. Shortly after that we learned of my dads passing away. I told Dusty that night he didnt have to stick around and who knows what the next few months would look like and he gave me a hug and said he wasnt going any where and weve been together ever since.
