Okay. Flights will be the most expensive cost of this trip. Luckily we have some great options and we have had insight on all of them. We recently flew Spirit Airlines to Cartagena on a flight that connected in Fort Lauderdale. It was honestly a wonderful experience. All flights were on time and most of our flights arrived early to our destination. Delta has a direct flight and a connecting flight that goes to Cartagena. Delta is the most expensive option, but many people have miles or points they can use towards the trip to make it cheaper. Do this if you can/wish to! COPA is another airline that has a connecting flight to Cartagena that stops first in Panama City, Panama at Tocumen Airport. I have personally never flown Copa before, but I have family that has taken the flight and they loved it! It is affiliated with Delta and has brand new planes with TVs.
Thought to consider: The events of the wedding are the 14th-17th of February (13th if you are wedding party and immediate family going to the rehearsal), but flights tend to be cheaper on Thursday the 13th. If you are able to get off work, it could be great opportunity to save on flights. It also could be nice to avoid the stress of getting there on time Friday. Keep in mind that it is President's Day Weekend, so the airports will be busy.
Our goal is to give multiple options for every guest. There are several incredible choices for stay ranging in price, location, and style. Attached below are some of our favorites that we visited throughout our visit to Cartagena. We made sure to vet each one to ensure that you are all both safe and comfortable during your time here. We still encourage each of you to do your own research on each venue to find what would be the best fit.
WE WILL BE STAYING HERE!!!

This is for the ones out there who want to ball out! Hotel Santa Clara is located in the heart of the old city and surrounded by Cartagena's art and culture. This is by far the nicest hotel we have ever stepped foot in. Pictures do not do it justice. We highly recommend staying here but hey, no worries if its not your cup of tea! More options available below!
This option is useful to our Hilton members. We have seen prices from 100-200$ a night, so very affordable. It is also located in the old city and is very convenient. This hotel is smaller, more intimate, and has a really wonderful Peruvian restaurant on the first floor. It also has a great rooftop known as The Magnolia with a bar, pool, and stunning views. IMPORTANT: There are two Hilton hotels in the city, but this one we found to be better. If you book this hotel, make sure that it is this address -> Postal Code 13001, Calle Del Curato #38-99, Cartagena de Indias, Bolívar, Colombia.
This is another option for people trying to use their hotel points! This location is further outside the city! You would need to take ubers in order to be closer to the action! This hotel is beautiful, with a rooftop pool and great service.
There are SO MANY Airbnb options in the city as well! They vary in size and style. These go pretty quickly so be sure to look on airbnb for options that suit your price range and necessities. Many options offer houses with many rooms that groups of you could go in on and split costs! I will say: we did not look at Airbnb options while we were in Cartagena, so we can not provide any further details!
