On March 8, 2020, we took our first picture together in Folly Beach, SC. Little did I know, 3 years later, Gunnar would pop the big question in the same exact spot. Just a few short weeks later, Gunnar would make it official by asking me to be his girlfriend in Asheville, NC. This is also where he told me he loved me for the first time. 

At the time, Gunnar was still attending school at The Citadel and I was living at home with my parents. For a short time, we had a long distance relationship. We would spend hours on Facetime just being silly and talking about anything under the sun. We spent some weekends in Charleston where Gunnar lived. If we weren’t in Charleston, we were at my parents house out by the pool. After a few weeks of dating, COVID locked the world down. We both tested positive for COVID but our symptoms weren’t too bad, so we spent an entire week in my bedroom playing Mario Cart and eating snacks, even if we couldn’t taste anything. Even though we were confined to the upstairs of my parents house, we shared so many laughs and conversations that week and ultimately become one of my most favorite memories.


Fast forward to 7 months later, we bought the craziest, wildest Golden Retriever and named him Whiskey. We then decided to move in together. I know, two super serious things happened in the same month but that’s when I knew I could see my forever with Gunnar.
