Have you ever heard the Legend of the Red String? According to the myth, everyone’s pinky finger is tied to an invisible red string that connects them to a person with whom they are destined to be soulmates. This string may stretch or tangle, but never break. This may seem like folklore, but our love story says otherwise.

We first met in paramedic school in 2017, and very quickly fell into being friends, which then led to us dating. And as soon as the relationship started, it felt like it had always been there. The love existed as if it had been predestined. Like we knew each other before we ever laid eyes on one another.

We learned very early on that our moms shared the same middle name. Despite the newness of our relationship, Dustin’s mom made the comment that if we ever had a daughter, we knew what her middle name would be. And now here we are, with a little girl who now shares the same middle name that our moms do.

All of this to say, it’s been a long time coming. We always knew we would end up here one day. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
