Our Wedding

Our story began through our brother and sister, who unknowingly sparked something special. In May 2016, we started talking—and what began as a simple friendship quickly grew into something deeper. We finally met in person in 2020 in Windhoek, and despite the distance, love found its way. We officially started dating as a long-distance couple. In August 2020, we received the beautiful news that we were expecting. In April 2021, we welcomed our son, Keagan Nico-Josh, into the world—a true blessing to our growing family. Though Monique was already a proud mom to two daughters, Kevin never hesitated. He embraced them as his own. He isn’t a stepdad—he’s the dad who stepped up. In April 2022, Kevin travelled﻿ all the way to Oshakati to ask the most important question—and without a doubt, Monique said yes. By December 2022, Monique made the big move from Oshakati to Oranjemund to be with Kevin. Since then, we've worked side by side, building our careers, growing our business, and strengthening our bond. Now, we’re taking the next big step—into marriage, hand in hand, heart to heart.

We met in 2023 when I made a nail appointment with you—and from that very first meeting, something just clicked. What started as a simple booking turned into a beautiful friendship. We began calling each other for advice, sharing laughs, and before we knew it, we were growing closer with every moment. You are truly someone who walked into my life unexpectedly and became family. And that I will cherish forever.

You are very welcoming , with a heart so warm, when they told us that we’re going to be roommates we clicked instantly   . It was very fun and wholesome sharing a house with you and you family: the girls, Ouma ( she will just speak Afrikaans with me until I have to learn the hard way) and Kevin so calm , chilled with a gentle aura.. this is quite surprising but we never had an argument or disagreement staying together 

Maaaaan ! I can go on all day from going to the movies at the cinema knowingly that we stay in the village and we will come back late with the kids.

In all in all we where a perfect duo. I appreciate you till eternity, your creativity, your love for God , you’re a woman of substance

Hi everyone! I’m Deidré (Didi), and I have the absolute honour of standing beside my beautiful aunt and bride-to-be, Monique. From childhood memories to unforgettable moments over the years, we’ve built a bond that’s unbreakable. Monique isn’t just family, she’s my safe space and constant reminder of strength and grace. I’m so grateful to walk this journey with her, and I can’t wait to celebrate the love she has found.

You’ve really kept me waiting until 30 to finally decide on marriage! It’s such a funny thought, because throughout my life we have carried so many memories of the crazy things we did together. From sneaking sweeties at Ouma’s, to you telling me to pass along the message, “Kevin said I must tell you he’s sleeping,” to me running with a blade, and us endlessly jumping on the bed (which, to this day, I still don’t understand why it never ended well!).

Fast forward, and now you’ve made me an uncle with our bond as best friends still strong, only now joined by Minion.

So, from the bottom of my heart, congratulations on your marriage. May it bring you endless happiness and pride. And just a quick thought I’m sure Ouma Maria is smiling proudly too.

Smiley, my bra and lifelong friend seeing you get married truly took me by surprise. For so long, I never imagined you settling down, especially after all the wild adventures we've shared. But looking at the man you've become over these past few years, I can honestly say I’m proud beyond words.
From our early days in primary school, where we barely spoke, to high school where our real friendship began, we’ve built a bond that has stood the test of time. From teenage mischief to grown-up responsibilities, we’ve journeyed together into our thirties, and through it all, our connection has remained strong. That’s what I call a lifetime friendship one that never fades.
When I hear the name "Smiley," I can’t help but think of “afval” and I know you hated that food with a passion! But those memories are part of the story that shaped us.
As you step into this new chapter of marriage, my advice is simple: stay true to who you are. Don’t change well, maybe just dial down the stubbornness a notch! But seriously, I’m honored to call you my brother. Wishing you endless love, laughter, and happiness in your journey ahead.

It’s been so many years since those days in primary school when we’d drink coffee at 2 a.m. just to watch the sunrise and play games. But when Need for Speed arrived, there was no time for sleep! Monday meant school again, and we had to wait for Friday to dice!

Before the PlayStation days, there were those Saturday mornings in Uncle Arrie and Aunty Yvonne’s living room — dangerously wrestling and doing WWE moves in the early hours with the cousins and brothers!

Now you’ve found your partner in crime — someone to build a life with, to carry each other through the good times and the not-so-good times. We’ll always stand together on the road ahead, and I’m truly happy for you for taking such a grown-up and brave step.
