We used to think that “Our Story” was so plain and that meeting online was so boring, and honestly, a little embarrassing. We used to say that we wished we had a better story. But, the more we told it to people and the more we really thought about it, we realized that our story is anything but plain and boring, and that we actually have the best story! Because our story is just that, our story, and it is an absolutely amazing one!

Although we met online in October 2023, our paths have been crossing and overlapping since 2007. Frequenting the same areas, having some mutual friends, living just a couple doors down from each other at one point, and Kyla even knowing some of Mike’s family before meeting him! It’s actually unbelievable that it took us this long to meet! It’s actually less likely that we hadn’t met before we did! We would’ve had to have seen each other at some point during these last 17 years, we would’ve had to have been in the same place at the same time. But, we weren’t meant to meet then, we were meant to meet when we did, because God’s plan and timing are perfect, and things happen exactly when they’re supposed to!

So, after a couple of right swipes, a “Good morning, Kyla! How’re you?”, a few days of nonstop texting, an awkward hug, a shared cheeseburger at The Smiling Moose, a kiss that made up for the hug, a literal trip down memory lane, and an official Facebook status change, we both knew that we had found exactly what we each had been looking, waiting, and praying for! A season of colds and missed holidays, a proposal under Christmas lights, a reminder to take off a glove and say, “Yes!”, and we finished one chapter and began the next!

The phrases, “Worth the wait” and “When you know, you know” have never been more true, than when they are applied to our story!

Each one of you is a part of our story too! Whether you know it or not, you have had a part, or played a role, in getting us to where we are, and our story wouldnt be our story without you! We are so grateful and blessed for all of you!

That much of our story is already written. We’re writing a new chapter right now, and we can't wait to start writing our next chapter! And the next! And the next!

Our story is about so much more than just how we met. Our story is about waiting, being patient, not settling along the way, prayers, answered prayers, and trusting God’s plan and timing!
