In August 2024, we ended up in the same life group at our church, Evergreen Church in Bixby, OK. A few months later on November 13th (Cheyanne's birthday), the two of us started getting to know each other better. A couple of weeks later, we started going on our first few dates. This pic is from one of those early, spontaneous hangouts. It's also the first picture of us together.

On December 14 we started dating officially. This picture is from the Rhema Christmas lights a day later, at a hangout with the same life group where we met,

This picture was taken at a Tulsa Oilers game, and it's also taken the Sunday before we both said "I love you" during a day trip to Joplin.

At Evergreen, there's a common principle that you look for 4 things when trying to determine God's will for your life (Scripture, peace in your spirit through prayer, wise counsel, and an open door). After spending time with some of Landry's friend group, Cheyanne realized that she has all 4 things from the Lord when it comes to marrying Landry. At this point, Landry has 3 out of 4, but more on that in a moment.

A fun date night to Shuffles Board Game Cafe in downtown Tulsa. If you like board games and/or sweet potato fries, we definitely recommend checking it out! This date is significant because that day, unbeknownst to Cheyanne, Landry had received the 4th thing: a Word from Scripture that confirmed to him that he and Cheyanne were supposed to be together. He would reveal that to her later after a conversation with our young adult pastor.

The day after Valentine's Day we got to take a trip to Landry's parent's land in Afton, OK. It was rainy most of the day so oversized ponchos were well-needed.

This was the day that Cheyanne picked out a lovely engagement ring. Landry also got to have an encouraging conversation beforehand with Mike Seagraves, a fantastic guy and mentor to many at Evergreen. We had a pre-celebration at Slim Chicken's with a heart-shaped chicken and waffle.

Attending our first wedding together for another young adult couple at Evergreen. It was a lot of fun, and we had a great time on the dance floor together.

Even though we're on opposite sides of Bedlam, this Cowboy and Sooner get along very well. Around this time, Landry had purchased the engagement ring and was working on proposal plans with some of Cheyanne's close friends.

This day was a major turning point in our relationship: the day we started to call each other our fiancé. Landry proposed to Cheyanne at Woodward Park, and she joyously said yes.

...Cheyanne's friends, who were helping Landry plan the whole time. They hid out of sight and took some day-of engagement pictures and a video of the proposal.

We also went to our first concert together after the proposal: TobyMac at the BOK Center. It was an amazing evening, and we got to celebrate with our community.

The celebration didn't stop there! Funnily enough, we each tried to plan a surprise party for the other: Landry was planning an engagement party, and Cheyanne was planning a surprise 30th birthday party for Landry. Our confidants decided to combine the two, and thus our birthgagement party was born. We were both surprised and so grateful for the people God has placed around us.
