Our favorite spring/summer activity is to go paddle boarding. You can rent from Texas Rowing Center. And yes, that is the bride featured in this photo and doing a headstand.

Huge park in the middle of the city. Hosts the Austin City Limits music festival each year and was also the setting of some of the bride and groom’s engagement photos. If you work up a sweat, hit up Barton Springs Pool nearby and take a dip in the year-round 70 degree water.

Take a drive on Loop 360 and see the Pennybacker Bridge. 2222 and 2244 offer scenic drives as well.

Best (and most famous) BBQ in Austin and what we ate on our first date. If you go, arrive early and expect a wait. Food typically runs out by early afternoon. Order the brisket.

Famous BBQ spot 15 min from Dripping Springs. BYOB and all you can eat family style.

Our favorite Tex-Mex spot in town. Get the Salsa X and order either the Uchingon Bowl or The Las Cruces Banado Plate. Recommend making a reservation since the wait is usually an hour on the weekends.

Our favorite pizza spot in Austin. Order a slice of Stracciatella and pair it with a glass of wine from Flo’s next door.

Our favorite coffee shop! They have a great outdoor space with multiple food trucks. Our favorite truck is Briscuit-they make their own biscuits and brisket. Veracruz All Natural is another food truck and has great breakfast tacos.

Our second favorite coffee shop in Austin. Highly recommend picking up a bag of their Ethiopian beans to take home with you!

Perfect coffee shop if you’re staying in Dripping Springs for the weekend. They have some delicious pastries and several simple sandwiches.

One of our favorite breweries in the area. Great option if you’re staying in Austin and want a more family-friendly brewery. Order the Secret Beach or Tender Robot if you like IPAs.

Great brewery close to Dripping Springs. Perfect for the whole family.

Great option to start with if you’re staying close to downtown and want to do some bar/brewery hopping on East 6th.

Probably the most scenic brewery in the city. Has the same lake views as the more famous (and more crowded) Oasis on Lake Travis restaurant next door.
