It was the height of the pandemic when we both decided to log on to Twitter to save our favourite show 'Wynonna Earp'. We came across each other's tweets and developed a friendship from there. Over the next few months we shared puns, memes, gifs and would see each other on group calls with our fellow Twitter friends. After I offered to call Lauren and keep her awake on a long drive our friendship grew deeper and before we knew it, we were chatting from morning 'til night (in some cases until sunrise...), having movie nights, zoom calls and phone calls for hours on end laughing and sharing stories. Eventually it became clear that our feelings were deeper than friendship and, when we finally got to meet in person it was obvious that the universe had brought us together for a reason.

After only a few days together we had to be apart for several painful months until Lauren could visit the UK. It was during this trip that she got down on one knee and I almost fell into the lake in shock! It was then that we started the long and painful journey that is US Immigration.

After 18 months, 11 flights and a few floods of tears (and some actual blood) we finally got cleared to start our journey of living together! We had a speedy wedding for legal purposes, but wanted a ceremony that we could share with our family and friends too.
