Our wedding celebrations will be held at the historic and charming Chautauqua Institution. The Hotel Athenaeum, a boutique hotel, sits right on the water within the Institution grounds. With only 150 rooms in total, we encourage guests to reserve early; the room block officially opens for online booking on January 2, 2026 at 9am EST. The room rate with the block is $150 per night plus applicable taxes.

Guests reserving rooms will be required to place a non-refundable $50.00 per room deposit at the time of booking. Check-ins are accepted as early as 12:00p.m. with all rooms guaranteed by 3:00pm. Check-out is 11:00a.m. on the day of departure. Room rates are subject to Chautauqua County and New York State Sales and Occupancy Taxes. Accommodations may be arranged through the reservation’s office at 1-800-821-1881, or online at athenaeum.chq.org with Group Code: 2026HOBSON. When booking online, you must enter the Group Code above and click apply before the room dates open. The reservations office reopens on January 5th. However, online booking is available starting January 2nd at 9am. If you are having any issues booking, please contact the front desk using 1-716-357-4444.

If guests are unable to reserve a room at Hotel Athenaeum or would just like an alternate option, we suggest booking an air bnb within the Institution via this website. Although there are many lodging options along Lake Chautauqua, the ubers are very limited so we encourage guests to stay within the Institution.
