We often look back at when we first met and call it fate---Dan happened to be snowboarding in Bulgaria when his mom called to tell him he needed to come home immediately because his aunt from Thailand was visiting and they would be having a big family dinner. That same weekend Christine, Dans sister, invited Maria over for that dinner where a good friend would be preparing sushi for the family, this was an immediate yes. That night, Dan came down the stairs in a pirate shirt under a gray cardigan and introduced himself as Hi, Im Dan, Im a pharmacist From that moment Maria knew immediately that Dan would be the father of her children and even saved the picture they took together on her desktop as mexichinobabies.
Before taking Maria home because she didnt drive at the time, Dan checked his schedule on his blackberry and made sure to set up a tapas night at Cafe Iberico where Christine and Katie would chaperone their first date.
The Cafe Iberico date was hilarious because Dan and Maria ended up sitting at the bar alone for a bit for a tequila shot competition. It turns out this competition ended with Marias third shot at which point she excused herself to the bathroom. Upon return Dan offered another shot to which she responded, I cant take another shit. She meant to say shot of course. Dan thought this was super endearing.


Fast forward to today and they now have a beautiful mexichino son named Phoenix...their beautiful story continues to unfold.
