Matthew and Mackenzie first met in 2018. They both hung out with a group of mutual friends and throughout the years they would all hang out mutually. This all changed in 2021....

In the summer of 2021, Mackenzie's heart was broken by one of both her and Matt's mutual friends. After the difficult break up, Matt became one of Mackenzie's best friends. He would drive to her house almost every night to help her get through this difficult time, but little did she know this difficult time would land her the man that would become her husband! As they continued to grow closer friends, they also grew more feelings towards each other which led them to start dating! On August 15, 2021, Matt's friend Thomas invited him to a campfire at their house, and he brought Mackenzie with him. While they were there, Matt's friends asked him how long he had been dating Mackenzie (he had not officially asked her yet), so he replied with "a few weeks" and continued to wink at her. Once they got back to Matt's house he asked her formally and they have been together ever since!

The Engagement

Matt asked Mackenzie to marry him at her grandparents house on Lake Hanska! He did it during the sunset down by the lake on September 10th, 2023!

Fun Fact: The diamond in Mackenzie's ring belonged to her great grandma!
