Elmo's Diner: breakfast anytime with booths & a family-friendly vibe.
Dame's Chicken & Waffles: easygoing spot offering classic waffle combinations, plus vegan, sweet potato & gingerbread options.
GRUB Durham: An old gas station turned Southern eatery with a rooftop bar, serving classic bites & milkshakes (good place for lunch too!)
Casual dining:
Durham Food Hall: from pizza to dumplings- this food hall has it all!
Bull City Burger and Brewery: family-friendly microbrewery serving locally raised beef burgers & house beers in a casual setting.
Common Market Durham: a yummy deli with wine & beer.
Hutchins Garage: classic pizzas & light bites, plus draft beer presented in a sizable, laid-back garage (+ we met here!)

Little Bull: Yummy Mexican & seafood tapas, inspired by the palates of first-generation immigrant kids.

Boxcar Bar + Arcade
Downtown Durham's arcade bar featuring tons of games, a pizza kitchen, and full bar. Our first date adventure brought us here!
Minors must be accompanied by an adult; However, the bar is strictly 21+ after 7pm.
The Velvet Hippo Bar & Lounge
The Velvet Hippo is a neighborhood rooftop bar. Enjoy a vacation vibe in a cozy space that feels like the bar from CHEERS and looks like a tropical getaway.

This is an Irish pub in the heart of Downtown Durham with food, drinks, and tons of outdoor seating.

"Ground-to-glass cocktails" served in an artful basement. This is a great place for high-quality cocktails and light snacks.

A casual bar/restaurant with tapas-style menu and tons of beers & cocktails. This is located right next to some other great spots such as "Surf Club" (dive bar) and "Fullsteam" (brewery.)
Family-friendly outdoor seating.
Durham Beer Garden
Great atmosphere, nice outside seating in front and huge porch and patio out back. Great beer selection both on tap and cans/bottles in the fridge. A great place to watch a game (& right next to the recommended restaurant Little Bull!)
