Lodging
Watervale is a unique family owned spot on Lower Herring Lake and Lake Michigan. It was originally a logging camp and many of the cottages are renovated homes of those who worked at the camp. It is located between the small town of Frankfort and the even smaller town of Arcadia. The closest “big” city is Traverse City which is about 45 minutes north. Olivia has come here for a week in August since she was born. Her mom has been coming since 1967. The wedding will take place looking over the lake. The wedding dinner will be held in the dining room of the historic inn which once housed the bachelor loggers. The reception will be held in what used to be the logging camp casino which has been fully renovated. These places are all in sight of each other. The cottages are all on the same street. Once you get there you can walk everywhere
Once we know who is coming we will assign cottages to you and get you all of the details and information. The cost will be $75 per night per person which includes breakfast at the Inn on Sat. and Sun. If you indicate that you are interested in extending your stay you will need to make that reservation directly with Watervale once you get your cottage information. We will be sending an email to you with everything you need to know as soon as we get this all set up.
The above price applies to Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the wedding weekend. If you wish to come up early, the cottages can be rented for $475 per night per cottage. Note, there is no food served in the Inn except for the wedding weekend.
This is an incredibly peaceful, beautiful, and somewhat “off grid” setting. We hope that you are able to relax in this very special place.

Directions
If you put “Watervale Inn, Arcadia, MI” in your GPS it should direct you correctly. A word of warning, the fastest route by a few minutes is through Indiana, we have found this to not be the best route. There just tends to be worse traffic. We typically head up 75 into Michigan. Our favorite route is to go around Toledo on 475, but any route through Michigan seems easier to us. It is about 7 ½ hours of driving time from Cincinnati and 6 ½ from Dayton. Plan to spend the last 1 ½ hours on 115 which is a two lane road with occasional passing lanes. Remember you are heading to a peaceful, off the grid experience which means some more rural areas.
