It was fall of 2020. We were two single people in a brand new city with no friends. With Covid restrictions making the already difficult task of meeting someone organically impossible, we turned to the next best thing-- Hinge! (This is not a paid advertisement). We met at a Biergarten in Asheville for our first date, and five hours later, we left only because the place was closing down.

Nearly 4 years later, we’ve been living together and enjoying brewery-hopping throughout Asheville, visiting our families in PA and VA as much as possible, and co-parenting our pride and joy, Maisie (yes, Caleb signed official adoption papers when we first moved in together).

As Olivia was tending to her first true love (at a Taylor Swift concert), Caleb was in cahoots with Lori, Olivia’s mom, planning an engagement on a future trip to PA. Although we already had conversations on being together as life-long partners, it was becoming an exciting reality 2.5 years into the relationship. After a concrete “Yes!” with tears shed and a couple fantastic one-liners from both families, the love and joy of our relationship grew even stronger.
