BRIDESMAIDS
Erin Baker
Matron of Honor
Relation: Older Sister
Erin’s life really took off after I was born. Bringing joy into her previously dull childhood, I provided her with better friendship than schoolmates. Being her younger sister isn’t always as easy as I make it seem, I spend much of my time finding small, yet effective, ways to cheer her up and reduce her stress.
Carter Wasser
Maid of Honor
Relation: Childhood Best-friend
Someone needed to be the sporadic and talkative friend in my life because it certainly wasn’t me. After-school care provided me with the friend I never knew I wanted, one that talked to everyone else for me while I happily stayed silent behind her.
Victoria Bitrick
Bridesmaid
Relation: College Classmate
Architecture school didn’t give me much time to make friends in school; I’m thankful that it paired Victoria and I in the same classes. However, our friendship started off rocky with Victoria mislabeling me as British to my immediate denial. My intimidating demeanor scared her off until second year where we eventually became library pals.
Selah Mitchell
Bridesmaid
Relation: College Roommate
Selah was assigned to be my roommate first year in Courtenay Hall. There, our relationship evolved from roommates to the vastly different, housemates. Selah would often dance and sign around our living room without a care about who might be watching.
GROOMSMEN
Timothy Wingeart
Position: Best Man
Relation: Younger Brother
Living without a brother eventually leaves a young boy wishing for a younger brother. If only young Brady knew all the matchbox cars and lego sets he would have to share with a destructive younger brother. The frustration from the lost and damaged toys led to hours of beating Timmy mercilessly in wiffle ball. As Paige and I began hanging out more often, Timmy would chaperone from the opposite side of the couch. Although my brother is annoying, I wouldn’t want anyone else as my best man.
Aidan Callinan
Position: Groomsman
Relation: College Roommate
Despite being from the state Maryland, Aidan became a quick friend of mine and eventual roommate. From the beanbag chair in Dilly, my freshman dorm, to Friendship Park, we spent a lot of our time in college together. Callinan has always felt like another younger brother to me, and not because we shared a room, but because of his adoration of me. Many of my college friends can be attributed to my mutual friendship to Callinan.
Troy Spillman
Position: Groomsman
Relation: Vacation Host
Every friend group needs a communicator to coordinate between everyone who refuses to respond to the group chat. For years, Troy has been the one that has taken the trip ideas from the text chain to reality. Our friendship started out rocky on the middle school baseball team, but changed course during our first year in DECA. I can confidently say that I gained more high school friends after I graduated high school as a result of Troy.
Ryan O’Keefe
Position: Groomsman
Relation: Baseball Teammate
Recognizing sarcasm isn’t a natural skill, and some friends don’t enjoy displaying when they use it, making its recognition more difficult. O’Keefe has been my mentor in sarcastic comments and identification. Whether I recognize it or not, he never missed an opportunity to poke fun at me in the process. O’Keefe and I also met as a result of the middle school baseball team. Unlike Troy, O’Keefe and I had help from our pitcher-catcher relationship to become immediate friends.
