Q + A

MASQUERADE? What the heck do I wear?

It's October, near our favorite holiday, Halloween! So, we want you to have fun with us. You can wear a costume of your choosing, all night long; however, if you'd like to class it up for the ceremony (think spooky chic), you can bring your masquerade attire into the home when you arrive. There will be a place to store your costume additions until it is time to change. After the ceremony, guests will be given time to transform into their Halloween Masquerade garb. There is no space or time for everyone to completely change, so please bring items you can add to your wedding attire to spookify yourself (ex. masks, hats, wigs, capes, jackets, face-paint, etc.). Most of the evening will be outdoors, and will most likely be chilly, so plan with layers and appropriate shoes.

Where do we park?

Our wedding will be at the Bride's parents' home. Parking will be indicated in their neighborhood with signs once you near the destination. There is a little walk from parking to the home. Your selfless drivers may opt to drop guests off at the end of the driveway and use the circle at the end of the road to turn around and return to parking. For those with mobility concerns, we do have limited parking available in the driveway by the front door. Please, let us know if you would like us to reserve you a spot. We also are offering overflow parking at a nearby public lot. If you are able to arrange carpooling groups, please consider parking in this lot and riding with a friend to the wedding (just a mile down the road). This lot is located at 4924 Ebenezer Church Road, Raleigh, NC.

SOUP?!

Yes, soup. The wedding is in October, in the evening, outside, and can get a little chilly (and you could get a little chili, too). For the convenience of serving everyone, covering a wide variety of palates and dietary needs, and avoiding formal seating arrangements, we have decided to serve one of our most favorite meals, soup with accoutrements. Even more special, all our soups will be homemade family favorites prepared by our loved ones! For those with dietary restrictions (bride very much included), we will have ingredient cards posted next to each soup. If you have a favorite soup that you would like to contribute, please let us know!

uhh...Accoutrements...?

Here in North Carolina, we call them fixins! None of our guests will go hungry with a wide assortment of toasts, rice, chips, cheese, and all the other goodies that make hearty soups even more super!

Magic and games?

In addition to music and dancing, there are also a lot of recreational activities on the property (including bocce ball, giant Jenga, corn hole, and very-mini putt-putt). And as you all know, the betrothed are magicians, so there will be no shortage of magic! If you are a magician, we'd love for you to bring your favorite cocktail magic to share will everyone during the cocktail hour and masquerade!

Will there be a bar?

We are happy to provide our guests with a selection of beer, wine, and a signature cocktail. However, there will be potential hazards present (including fire, water, and children), so we trust you to drink in moderation (or, we'll make you *poof* disappear)!

Can I bring my children?

This day celebrates us becoming a family, so we would love for you to have your family present as well! But please note, there are fire pits and water features on the property. So, for their safely, please keep a close eye on your kids. If you are bringing children under the age of 10, please let us know! We would like to prepare a Trick-or-Treat Boo Bag favor for them, and we have a special way for them to participate in the ceremony (if they would like)! Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume all night long, even during the ceremony!
