Brevan and Sharne attended the same school, but with a three-year age gap, they never crossed paths — or so they thought. Years later, fate and a coaching job brought them together when Brevan started working at the same school where Sharne was teaching. Not long after, he followed her on Instagram, and she messaged to ask how he found her. That’s when he admitted he’d remembered her from school and even asked the head of sports who she was.

One message turned into many, and before long, they were inseparable. By the end of this year, they will have shared four incredible years together.

Their proposal happened on a holiday to Cape Town that Brevan had planned from start to finish — including looping in friends to secretly film and photograph everything. That morning, one of them (not naming names) was particularly grumpy and didn’t want to leave bed. But Brevan convinced Sharne to visit Kirstenbosch Gardens, led her to a quiet, tucked-away spot… and got down on one knee. Safe to say, the day turned out a lot better than it started — it became the best one of their lives.

Now they are counting down to the next best one — their wedding day — and they can’t wait to celebrate it with all of you.
