In the smack dab middle of a global pandemic, a country girl from Canada met a swoon-worthy Spanish gentleman. How did you meet in a pandemic, you might ask? The internet, of course!

We had our first date in a cozy Italian restaurant, and Alvaro's chivalry first impressed Steph (and it continues to impress her to this day).

We got to know each other over picnic dates, walks in the park, and dinners at our family's homes. We quickly came to realize that our faith, values, and hopes for the future lined up so harmoniously... not to mention our smashing good looks!

We grew our connection watching soccer, and Steph blasted the Spanish and German national anthems in the car on repeat during the Euro Cup.

In the middle of the summer of 2021, we jetted off to Mexico City, where, just down the street from where Alvaro grew up, we visited Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Alvaro proposed on that holy hill. It was the perfect way for the two of us to joyfully enter into our engagement.

Since then we have been planning, hoping and dreaming to celebrate our wedding! We love that our story happened during this particular time of history - it has been the most joyful connection in these isolating and dividing times - but trust us, we are looking forward to a big old party!!
