The first time Alvaro visited Steph in Vernon, she brought him straight from the airport to Kaloya park. It's a short, easy walk around the park, there is a playground for kids, and it is a great place for a picnic (you can pick up food from Pane Vino restaurant or browse Gatzke's farm market which is right beside the restaurant).

You can rent bicycles from Kalavida Surf shop in Coldstream, then bike along Kalamalka Lake on the Rail Trail which is a flat, easy biking trail with beautiful views. If you wear a swimsuit, you can jump into the lake to cool off midway through your bike ride. Finish it off with a treat at the Rail Trail Cafe when you return your bikes!
