Our Story

When Steve and Shauna first met, let's just say it wasn't love at first sight. Assigned to the same work team, Shauna couldn't stand Steve. He was quiet, reserved, and didn’t seem interested in much beyond his own world. It took months before they really started talking, and slowly—very slowly—they became friends. Over time, as they each faced personal challenges, they realized their struggles were surprisingly similar, and it was in those shared experiences that they began to connect.

Shauna soon discovered that beneath Steve’s quiet exterior was a genuinely caring, kind, and, let’s be honest, hilarious person. Steve's humor and authenticity started to shine through, and it didn't take long for her to realize just how much she appreciated him.

As their relationship blossomed, Shauna lived on Kent Island and Steve in Salisbury, so they spent a lot of time traveling back and forth between their homes while juggling the responsibilities of their children. Eventually, they introduced their kids to each other, and to their delight, the kids hit it off as well, making the transition into a blended family that much easier. In 2021, they decided to bring everyone under one roof, and since then, they've created countless memories together.

Their journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Their relationship has grown stronger, and the growth they’ve experienced individually has been even more profound. Steve found his new calling at the VFW after his military service, and together, they enjoy long motorcycle rides and countless adventures. Above all, they are best friends who trust each other completely and hold each other accountable, always in the most loving way.

For Steve and Shauna, finding each other was just as much about finding themselves. And now, with their families united, they look forward to all the love, laughter, and memories that still await them on this incredible journey. They are very much in love and can not wait for the next steps in life.

"My dearest friend,

if you don't mind

I'd like to join you by your side

Where we could gaze into the stars

and sit together, now and forever

for it is plain, as anyone can see,

We're simply meant to be"

A note from the Groom

From the moment I first saw Shauna, my initial thought was, “She’s hot, probably out of my league, but smokin’ hot.” I’ll be honest, I didn’t think someone like her would give me the time of day. But here we are, and I still can’t believe how incredibly lucky I am.

We didn’t exactly hit it off at first. Honestly, that might’ve been more on me, since I was pretty miserable in my own head at the time. But as time went on, something changed. She saw through all the layers I had built up, and slowly but surely, she helped me become the man I am today. I’ve never been more proud of who I’ve become, and I owe so much of that growth to her.

Even though she can communicate what she’s feeling in subtitles (seriously, her facial expressions are a whole language of their own), she has no trouble speaking her mind and standing up for herself. And I absolutely love that strength. It’s one of the things that made me fall in love with her. She's unapologetically herself, and that’s something I admire more than I can put into words.

I adore her in ways I didn’t even know were possible. She’s my biggest supporter, my partner in crime, and the person who makes every challenge feel manageable. Her kindness, strength, and grace leave me in awe every single day, and I find myself more in love with her than I ever thought possible.

What I’ve come to realize is that my love for her is unconditional. No matter what life brings, no matter what challenges we may face, my love for her will never waver. It’s a love that is steadfast, deep, and unwavering—built on trust, respect, and a commitment to always grow together. It’s the kind of love that doesn’t need to be perfect to be real. It’s the kind of love that, at its core, just is.

As we’ve walked this journey together, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride in the growth we’ve experienced—both individually and as a couple. We’ve helped each other find more patience, more understanding, especially during life’s toughest moments. The strength we’ve found in one another has shaped us into better versions of ourselves. There’s no one else I would have rather grown with than her, and I’m so incredibly proud of the love and resilience we’ve built together.

To my soon-to-be wife, thank you for loving me as I am, for bringing out the best in me, and for being my greatest adventure. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, because my heart has never been so sure of anything.

I. Love. This. Woman.
