What hotel do you recommend we stay at?

We have reserved a block at Hotel Madera (check the Travel page!) However, do not feel pressure to book this one! Other hotels nearby include the Royal Sonesta, St. Gregory, and the Hyatt Place Georgetown; we have provided details for these on the Travel page as well, and there are a lot of hotels and B&B's in the area.

Where should I park?

Our ceremony is held on 14th street and our reception is held in Dupont. We do not recommend trying to park in either of these areas as street parking is limited. Instead, we recommend a few different options: 1. If you are in the DC/Alexandria/Arlington area, we recommend taking an Uber/Lyft 2. If you are staying at one of the recommended hotels in the Dupont area or somewhere nearby, the walk to the ceremony is 20 minutes. We recommend this or taking an Uber/Lyft. 3. If you are farther out, we recommend taking the Green or Yellow line on the metro to the U-Street Metro stop; from there, it is a ten minute walk to the ceremony venue. From the ceremony venue, it is a 20 minute walk to the reception venue (or a quick Uber/Lyft). If you have to drive, we recommend parking in a more residential area in between the two venues.

What should I wear?

Cocktail Attire! We have a proposed color palette that is on the details card sent in your invite. Please check that out for more information!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be outdoors, pending weather, and the dinner will be indoors. Our reception venue also has an outdoor patio that will be available to guest if weather permits.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

We want everyone at our ceremony to be able to enjoy themselves in the moment we're sharing together. We request that all phones be silenced and put away during the entirety of our ceremony. Our amazing photographer will capture the photos we need during the ceremony, and we'll have plenty of opportunities for photos and videos later in the day!
