Travis and Susannah met on Tinder in December, 2016. They met in person for the first time on December 27th and had their first official date in the living room of Susannah's college house where their roommate's cat (who wasn't a fan of most men) snuggled up to Travis immediately.

From that fateful day in December, they have been the best of friends. Travis would drive an hour to see Susannah most days of the week and Susannah would reciprocate whenever she could. They grew closer through the good times and the bad times and like a flash, 6 years had passed!

Travis proposed to Susannah in the same place they had their first date on July 2nd, 2023. He had left a letter for the current tenants months earlier and begged for the chance to do something so special in the place they fell in love. By chance, a friend intervened and got the current tenant and Travis in touch with each other and the plan was set!

On the day of, Travis drove Susannah to Eugene. They walked around the neighborhood for a bit until he found out the person we were supposed to meet was over an hour away. They gave him permission to break into the house through the unlocked front window. Susannah was expecting it to happen on the front porch so this was a shock!

Once inside, they set up a phone to record the moment and Travis had Susannah sit on the couch (a much cleaner and newer couch than where they had their first date). Some of the decor was the exact same. The memories came flooding back for both of them. The tears flowed as Travis asked for Susannah's hand in marriage.

She said yes!

The two (along with their cat friend, adopted in October 2021) are now excitedly preparing for the big day and can't wait to share it with those they hold dearest on 10/19/2024
