Tristen & Josie's Love Story

August of 2022, Tristen came over to a mutual friends house, where Josie had just moved in, for game night. Small conversations led to no where, Josie really thought he was way out of her league, funny enough, Tristen thought the same thing. They got each others snapchats, then phone numbers, and finally admitted that they both liked each other. They spent Josies 21st birthday, Labor Day, Texas Tech football games, and many other game nights together until finally he asked Josie to be his girlfriend at Hayashi on September 8th, 2022. They have both experienced lots of small moments and big life changing moments together in the past 2 and a half years. They have stuck with each other in all the busy-ness and time conflicts in their schedules, which include Josies stress in all her student teaching, 1st and 2nd year teaching, nonstop babysitting schedules, Tristens retail job schedules, engineering curriculum that confuses everyone except Tristen, getting a puppy and surviving the puppy stage, and both graduating college. After Tristen graduated, they knew they were meant to be together and planned to move where Tristen found a job. They moved to Amarillo to pursue Tristens amazing new work career at Bell Helicopter in July of 2024. They have been settling in with Josies mom nearby now and spending frequent weekends in Lubbock to see Tristens family (they hate missing out). Then the getting married nagging began by Josie, and Tristen started saving his brand new paycheck secretly. He secured the ring October 11, 2024 and came up with a plan for November 2nd. Unfortunately, it down poured the whole day and the plan fell through, they became busy with weddings and travel and Thanksgiving, but little did Josie know, Tristen had a plan for November 29th. They got minimally ready on Friday, went to lunch at Hayashi, Black Friday shopped (aka stalling for setup), and little did Josie know when they got back to Tahoka she would be a fiancee. Tristen had hid the ring in his truck, and while Josie threw trash away at Sonic, he snuck it into his pocket. They drove to Tahoka, all like normal, and Tristen mentioned he needed to air his tires up so he had to pull in by his dads barn by the pond. As we pulled in, he got out and said, Lets go look at the pond!, where a chalkboard saying Will you marry me? was written on the dock. Josie was in shock and Tristen was very excited (probably more excited to stop hearing her asking when this would happen). And he got down on one knee on the dock and asked Josie to marry him. She said yes! They cheered off the dock with tears, excitement, and so much joy!
