Chris and Doug chose the Lommel Lawn at Calistoga Ranch for their ceremony because of its beautiful canyon views. The couple also liked that the resort was local for them, but a destination for their guests.

As a nod to Doug's Irish and Scottish heritage, the couple hired a bagpiper from Wine Country Entertainment to lead the processional.

The couple wore similar tulip boutonnieres, Doug's in orange and Chris's in blue to contrast their plaid ties.

The reception was held in Calistoga Ranch's Wine Cave "to help our out-of-town guests receive that Napa experience," Doug says.

Hints of a family game night theme started with Family Feud at the rehearsal dinner and continued throughout the wedding night, including their The Game of Life cake topper.

Same-sex marriage became legal in California just months before Chris and Doug's November nuptials. They were thrilled that the officiant was able to end with, “By the power vested in me by the State of California…”
