I booked one of A Formal Affair's white trolleys to transport our wedding party around Boston on the day of our event. I contacted Steve and he invited me down to Marshfield to see his trolley first hand. It was clean and new looking and would look good in our pictures. It was also comforting to know that he has an identical trolley to use as a back up in the unlikely case the trolley was out of service the day of the wedding. The only downside to the trolley is that there is no rear balcony. Besides that, there is wrap around bench seating that comfortably sat our entire party.
Though Steve was a nice guy and seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy in regards to his business, there were times when it was quite difficult to get a hold of him. It was worrisome leading up to the wedding when i was not hearing back from him, but the day of the wedding could not have gone smoother. Steve arrived early and adapted easily to all the last minute changes we threw his way. He knew the area and got us where we had to be with time to spare. I would definitely recommend A Formal Affair for anyone looking for a clean and classy ride.
Both times I tried calling them to get a call, they hung up on me before I could say anything. Yikes, not interested in that kind of customer service.
We got a trolley for the day of our wedding to transport the bridal party. They were so great! The trolley was so nice and a great addition for pictures! Highly recommend!
We used A Formal Affair to transport our guests from Scituate to Duxbury. The white wedding trolley was SO pristine and gorgeous - far exceeding my expectations. They were structured and had great timeline to build in safety nets that we luckily didn't have to use.
On the way back - they dealt with the post-wedding shenanigans crowd with great spirits and the patience of a kindergarten teacher. I'm grateful that they were there for our big day!
I submitted an information request for a specific vehicle I saw on their website. Their first response did not even address my original question and required a follow-up email. In that second email, I was addressed by the wrong name (Andrew, and my name is Alexandra which was signed on both emails I sent) only to find they don't have the vehicle I was interested in. I felt completely unimportant to them and they had zero respect for my time or else they would have told me up front that the vehicle is no longer available. I won't book them and suggest others stay away, at least until they improve their customer service. Clearly, a new customer wasn't important.
A Formal Affair Limousine was great to work with for my wedding! My husband and I rented their white wedding trolley which was lovely, clean and arrived early on the day of our wedding. The owner, Steve, was our driver which impressed me and he was helpful and knew exactly where we were going and when we had to be there. He even got us to the Back Bay church on time despite the Pride Parade and a Red Sox game! I was especially impressed at how great the service was given that my mother-in-law had booked trolleys though another, larger Boston-based company to transport the guests. That company was similarly priced but had one trolley break down briefly while full of our guests, had no AC on either trolley (a detail which was left out when we booked), and had a driver get lost because she had never been told where to go. I would book with Steve and A Formal Affair Limousine again in a heartbeat because the service was top notch and reliable.
We got married in Hyannis, MA and all the local trolley places were completely booked when I started looking 9 months prior to our wedding. Therefore, I started calling places off the Cape and "A Formal Affair Limo" was so great. I knew the price would be a little more than normal since they had to travel to the Cape on a Saturday during the busy season, but they were slightly cheaper than most which was great. I was so nervous that the limo was going to get caught in traffic and be late or not show up at all, but it was exactly the opposite. It was so nice to see the trolley was already there when I got back from the hair salon, it was a great piece of mind knowing that the trolley was early and waiting for us. The driver was very professional and courteous. The trolley made for some great photo opportunities, and with a large wedding party it was nice that we could all be together. I highly recommend "A Formal Affair".
Our ceremony and reception venue are less than two blocks from one another, and transportation was a last minute addition, 4 weeks before the wedding.
The staff at A Formal Affair made seamlessly worked our day into their schedule and for an affordable rate. The driver was courteous, punctual and accommodating.
My daughter got married on August 9, 2014 in Falmouth, MA. When my daughter decided she'd like a trolley for transportation we were a little late making contact. However, one of the other companies that was booked gave us the number for "A Formal Affair" in Marshfield. Steve was extremely helpful while we planned our event. On the wedding day, the trolley was on time (or early) even though traffic that day was some of the worst we've ever seen! The inside was air conditioned and the seating was comfortable and ample for our wedding party. Our driver was polite and helpful as we got on and off the trolley. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
We rented a 30-person trolley for our wedding and had problem fitting our whole wedding party and family. The trolley was in great condition inside and out and made for some beautiful pictures. The driver Steve was the best! He arrived on time and got us to our final destination a little early giving us more time for pictures. He was professional, polite and even helped hold the church doors open for my processional. The owner was also very professional and prompt in getting back to emails. He went over the day of schedule a few weeks before to ensure he had all the details and directions. I definitely recommend A Formal Affair for any transportation needs. We were able to relax and enjoy the day!
The trolley and limo showed up on time and got us where we needed to go. Weren't really familiar with the area. Limo bottomed out on one turn. Driver was nice, but didn't introduce herself to my husband when she showed up.
Nice ride.
Stephen at Formal Affair offers an incredible service that added so much style to our wedding. The trolley and vintage 1940's caddie were incredible! Our guests loved them and out pictures were amazing.
The service he provided along with the driver were unmatched and only enhanced our day further because of their friendliness.
If you need wedding transportation or even looking for a special ride A Formal Affair should definitely be at the top of your list!
Driver arrived as scheduled, if even a little early! Very nice, polite drive. We had a white ten person limo, and it was just fine for a wedding!
Working with A Formal Affair was great! Our driver was so kind and wonderful. He took us to all our locations without needing any assistance and was extremely nice to everyone in the bridal party and groomsmen. He continually told me it was my day and he was there to make it wonderful. Great company!
My husband and I fell in love with the trolleys at "A Formal Affair", we went to meet the owner, Steve Lynch, and made a CASH deposit. He told us we would be getting a contract in an e-mail because "that's how he did business". He also mentioned that his trolleys were originally being held by another couple, but that he hadn't heard from them in several weeks, he told us that he never received their contract or deposit. Steve told us that by giving him cash he was "promising" us the Trolley, and that we had his "word" that we were getting his Trolley for our wedding.
3 weeks went by and Steve hadn't sent us a contract or returned any of our phone calls, until one day he called to tell me that "I lost the trolley" and that he had to keep his word to the other couple who had reserved it first (without a contract or deposit mind you), he told me that he had just received the other couple's contract and deposit in the mail, and that it was coming from over-seas because the Groom was in the military. I was disgusted and completely disappointed! He told us that he could give us one of his limos that would seat 8, we had a wedding party of 16!!
We had to drive down to get out deposit back and try and to find a last minute trolley to replace his, with 3 months left before a very popular September wedding.
Also, his office looked as though there were people living there, there was a bedroom with thrown sheets on the floor and the flooring itself was actually un-even ply-wood, completely unsafe to be having customers walk around on. I personally think we were outbid by another couple who was willing to pay more, completely unfair and a horrible way to run a business.
We hired a trolley to carry our guests and ourselves from the reception site to the ceremony and then back again because there was no parking available at the ceremony (a public park). The trolley was immaculate, inside and out, and there was not a speck of advertising on it (thank god!)- very classy. The driver was very friendly and happy to follow the map and schedule I provided a week ahead of time. She helped me manhandle my gown on and off the trolley. She was almost an hour early, which was very comforting as I was watching eagerly from the hotel next-door, worried that something would go wrong.;They were great! No warnings or complaints from me!
champange! Music! Lighting!;traffic causes great delays and high blood pressure.
He was a friend of my parents so I have no complaints. They even drove us to the airport the next day for our honeymoon and he was fabulous!
