ocations for our engagement session, but when the pandemic and stay at home order was announced, she made incredible effort to accommodate us and make our session at one location happen sooner than originally scheduled to ensure we had some pictures done based on the unpredictability of the pandemic. Once the order was lifted, she again went out of her way to schedule another session at our other desired locations. However, we got stuck in a thunderstorm and were unable to get pictures at all the places we wanted. So, again, Amy offered to meet us a third time for another session, to make sure we could have what we envisioned to make us happy. Amy's willingness to accommodate us continued to our wedding day. She did so much to ensure our wedding day was as perfect and special as it could be and what we envisioned, especially during a pandemic. Countless times, Amy went above and beyond, not only with her photography, but with her sincerity to make us feel comfortable and happy! Amy's ability to make us feel relaxed and comfortable allowed us to truly be present in the moment with each other, oftentimes, forgetting she was even there taking pictures. My fiance is not usually the best sport when it comes to taking pictures for long periods of time and she truly knows exactly how to make you feel comfortable and capture natural and candid pictures that feel effortless. Our engagement photos turned out incredible and she captured so many amazing moments at our surprise engagement party without being intrusive at all - you honestly wont even notice she is there, she is that good! When it came time to book our wedding photographer - it was no question in our minds that we wanted to book Amy for that as well! She has been incredibly accommodating, working with us on changing our wedding date not once, but twice due to Covid restrictions. I look forward to writing another review once we are finally able to walk down the aisle and have Amy photograph it next summer :)

s well as melt into the background when someone else needs to be the center of attention. I knew from coming across her photography on Instagram (@amyannphoto) that she would actually capture US and who we really are, rather than highly stylized/posed shots. She can do that too, if that's who you are - we're just much more laid back, silly, happy, wallflower type people. But on that note, we are both generally non-photogenic people, so I was worried that we would look (and feel) very awkward & generally uncomfortable in the pictures. Lucky for us, Amy is fantastic and helped us with things like natural arm placements & positioning, fixing displaced clothing, etc. We had her shoot an engagement session plus family session with families of both the bride and groom. This was a lot like cat herding, but Amy rose to the challenge and knocked it out of the park. (On a crazy hot & humid day in the park, no less!) Not only did we end up with GORGEOUS engagement photos, but all of our parents/siblings/in-laws/grandparents have amazing family photos - which earned us major brownie points!! Our big wedding plans were cancelled due to Covid-19, but I knew that even if we couldn't have anything else, we wanted to make sure we kept Amy! She was so supportive & flexible as we figured out our new plan. After a bit of flip-flopping, we ended up keeping our original date but shifting to a zoom wedding in our backyard with no guests physically present. Amy went above & beyond by coming out the day before to capture us delivering "remote wedding kits" to our local family members, as well as helping me find a hair stylist at the last minute! She was so supportive about mask wearing & social distancing, which was very important to me. Our photos are amazing. Amy was able to capture all of the love, laughter, and even tears on our special day. I really can't emphasize enough that you want her to be your photographer. We hired her because I knew she could take nice pictures, but now I feel like I've made a friend and worked with an incredibly talented artist.

Even though it was not as we originally planned it, looking back on the day now, it exceeded our expectations in so many ways, and Amy was such a big part of that. We could not have been happier with her work, and we are so grateful to have the beautiful photos that she took to look back on and remember that perfect day. What might not be as visible when looking over her photos on her website is how spectacular her communication is throughout the whole process! Planning a wedding is a huge project to manage and having a vendor that responds promptly is SO crucial. She was helpful to the nth degree. ld tell Amy takes great pride in her work and the satisfaction of her clients. I never had to worry about photography details. Amy effectively directs large groups, which was important for our huge bridal party. My husband and I marveled over all the different shot angles she got during our ceremony, since we hadn't even noticed her taking these photos. Our absolute favorite part of Amy's photography is her mastery of light. If you can have her shoot engagement or wedding photos in the late afternoon, do it. Many of our pictures have this ethereal glow that sets Amy's photography apart. I would recommend Amy Ann Photography to anyone.

known Amy socially for a long time so I was excited she was available to shoot my wedding. She worked with me and my family to arrange travel and to make plans in advance to make sure we got every shot we wanted in the time available. Amy worked with me and with our other vendors to develop the timeline that made the most sense for us. She tried to make things work as much as possible... but wasn't afraid to tell me if my ideas for how long things might to take were unrealistic. She worked well with our other vendors both during the planning and on the big day. I have been to some weddings where the photographer becomes the center of the day, stopping the ceremony or party to get the shot. Amy didn't do this at all. She managed to get all the important pictures without becoming the center of attention herself. Several friends and family members commented on how friendly and easy to work with Amy was. If you've looked at her work it will be surprise that our same-sex interracial Jewish wedding didn't make her blink at all. We had several vendors who were polite-but-inexperienced when it came to couples like us (addressing emails to "the bride" or forms asking for a "groom" when we had 2 brides and no groom...). Amy's boilerplate forms are gender neutral and when she contacted us specifically she always used our preferred terminology. It's a small thing, but made us feel seen and like we didn't need to explain ourselves. I would highly recommend hiring Amy Ann Photography if she is available for your event!

She was such a calming force at the wedding making sure we got the shots we wanted, but that we also had time to ourselves and enjoyed the day. Amy is also just a fun person to be around and our wedding day was filled with laughs and smiles and first looks and we felt totally comfortable around Amy. She is great about showing her clients photos as she takes them and she has a way of making you just so darn excited for the moment you get to see your finished photographs for the first time. We planned our wedding from another state and Amy was amazing at offering resources and recommendations and making sure we had details that would have been easily missed as a result of being a plane ride away. I am thrilled we found Amy when we did as we will use her for milestone after milestone to come… even if that means flying her out to Baltimore. I just cannot imagine anyone else capturing our life and future family.
