I was really nervous to take dancing lessons for my wedding, but Peter put me right at ease and I looked forward to going every week. He knew exactly what to say to encourage my wife and I to learn our dance. Truly a one of a kind experience. (Marissa is wonderful too, though Peter was our primary instructor).

Peter and Marisa made learning our wedding dance a true highlight for us. We knew we wanted our first dance to be something more personal than a standard routine, and Peter and Marisa created and taught us beautiful and stunning choreography to “Finish Line” by Elton John and Stevie Wonder that felt completely us.
They thought carefully about creating beautiful moments for our professional photographers to capture, so every pose and transition looked as good in photos as it felt to dance. Over the course of 8 lessons, they were patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in getting every detail right, from the timing of the moves to the little moments that would make the dance feel meaningful rather than just memorized.
All that preparation paid off on our wedding day and made for a memory that we’ll treasure forever, one that followed us all the way to our honeymoon in Italy, where we couldn’t resist taking a photo of the dip that we learned from them.
If you’re planning a wedding and want your first dance to be a genuine reflection of who you are as a couple, not just a rehearsed routine, we can’t recommend Boston Ballroom highly enough.

Their talent and skill in developing our choreography were truly impressive. They took the time to understand our style, our comfort level, and the feeling we wanted to create, then crafted a routine that felt natural, meaningful, and uniquely “us.” Every step, transition, and moment was thoughtfully designed, and it showed.
Their teaching style made all the difference. Each lesson was clear, effective, and encouraging. We genuinely looked forward to lessons and even lovingly referred to our wedding as our “dance recital” because of how much fun we were having. ost amazing first dance we could have ever asked for! In just about five or six lessons (and a lot of practice at home) we felt so confident and excited to get out there for our first dance. Peter was very patient with us in each lesson, especially with teaching (and re-teaching) different parts of our dance and helping us stay on the beat with the song. Not only did working with Peter help us feel confident and excited for our first dance, he taught us steps and sequences that we could use to dance to for all different songs! We had so much fun working with Peter each week and our only regret is not booking a lesson sooner.
Having a choreographed first dance completely set the mood for the rest of the night. Our guests were so excited to dance and the dance floor was completely packed all night. We had so many of our family and friends telling us how much they loved it and how much fun they had. We HIGHLY recommend working with Peter and Marisa to prepare for your first dance!

Peter can be a little bit intense, but he is a choreography wiz, able to design dances just by feeling the music. Booking and scheduling a lesson was very easy, and the staff are very communicative. From the very first lesson, Marissa and Peter made us feel completely comfortable and my husband and I laughed the entire time. With no prior experience and being completely out of his element, Marissa and Peter started at the basics and went over step by step instructions to create a beautiful dance. Their teaching went far beyond just choreographing a wedding dance. They helped us build a deeper connection by focusing on leading, following, and trusting one another. As a result, our dance felt polished, elevated, and personal—not like we were just counting steps or waiting for the next move. My husband and I love to have fun and don’t take ourselves too seriously, so our wedding guests were absolutely stunned when he pulled off lifts and spins like a pro!
The level of care and professionalism Boston Ballroom provided was truly unmatched. They went above and beyond, coordinating with our venue, band, photographer, videographer, and day-of coordinator to ensure everything ran seamlessly. They even planned out the space we’d need and made sure no cameras would block our performance, allowing us to fully enjoy and immerse ourselves in the moment.
The owner of our wedding venue personally told us that our dance was one of the best they had ever seen, and our family was in awe of how beautiful it was. You can see the excitement on everyone’s faces in the pictures—I’ll update this review with more photos once I receive the rest from our photographer.
Another highlight of our wedding dance package was the inclusion of couples’ dance classes, which we’re so excited to use as date nights in the future!
Marissa and Peter are not only incredibly talented instructors but also genuinely kind and thoughtful people. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dance experience and complete peace of mind on your big day, look no further. We’re beyond grateful to them for helping create a memory we’ll cherish forever!

for 5 sessions of 1.5 hours each. This format gave us the right amount of time to focus on learning new steps and practicing them.
Our instructor, Peter, was excellent—very patient and clear in his teaching. He helped us feel comfortable from the start and was attentive to making sure we learned at a pace that worked for us. An added bonus was the free group classes included with both the introductory lesson and the package, which gave us extra opportunities to practice in a group setting.
We’re very happy with the results and feel much more prepared for our wedding day!

am. They tailored our lessons to our skill level and helped us create a routine that was perfect for our big day. Even though neither of us had ever danced before, Marisa and Peter made it easy to learn. We felt confident and comfortable on the dance floor, and our guests loved watching us.
I would recommend to anyone that is learning a dance for their wedding to start at a minimum of three or four months before your wedding and to do at least 10 dance classes if you have never danced before. My husband and I did this and even though we had multiple dips and a lift, we felt so comfortable with the dance by the end. It was also something we looked forward to practicing every week at the studio and we will definitely be back for some of their group dance classes. We've seen so many beautiful wedding dances, but ours was definitely a standout. The choreography was incredible.
We can't thank Boston Ballroom enough for making our wedding so special!

We ended up looking forward to our sessions and treated them like date nights and got all dressed up. If they can teach us to dance, they can teach anyone to dance. Peter and Marisa brought a great, upbeat energy and were so fun to work with and patient in teaching us who were complete novices. They are both professional competitive dancers and would be able to work with anyone from novice to expert. e did. We met with Marisa and Peter about 2 months before our wedding and did 10 lessons to choreograph our first dance. Our first lesson was good as they were able to assess our skills and learning ability. My husband had no dance experience, but had done sports. We then were able to come up with a plan for our remaining lessons to learn our dance. We went in with the song Adele “One and Only” with the thought we would have the song cut to a shorter amount. Each week was such a good learning experience. Marisa was great in teaching my husband and I to dance, but was able to do so with our learning styles. We also switched off with Peter who helped with a lot of the choreography. It was great to have different perspectives and they truly work well together! We loved that we got a video each week of our dance in order to practice each week. Some weeks were a learning curve for each of us and it also taught us more about us as a couple. It was also nice to have an hour each week to not focus on the wedding and to do something fun! As we got closer to the wedding Marisa recommended that we not cut the song and do the full 6 minutes. I have to say about 2 weeks before the wedding we were not totally convinced, but she knew what she was doing! We are so glad that we did and the end result was AMAZING! Our friends and family were so stunned and couldn’t believe what we accomplished. People still mention our “Epic” first dance! Marisa even helped us with our intro to our first dance. Our dance moves even made for some great photos outside before and after the wedding! We cannot thank them enough for helping us make our day so special. They are great teachers and they have the most adorable dog Sophie that is there as well! Thank you again!

Peter and Marissa are a talented team with amazing energy and dance lessons quickly became our favorite part of wedding planning. They not only created us a custom, one of a kind incredible wedding dance (that had our wedding guests in tears, not an exaggeration) they also helped us choose and practice our entrance songs and mini entrance dance. They helped us think through "day of" details that we never would have thought of otherwise! Peter and Marissa offer a fun, yet also productive date night that we never knew we needed! I cannot give this team a high enough review, they truly were the biggest blessing in our wedding planning year.

m worthy of a first dance with his much more graceful bride. But it's another thing to find great dance instructors who are genuinely terrific human beings - people who care about you and your wedding as much as your own parents do!
We did several sessions with Peter and Marissa, and they were worth every penny (not to mention they are also reasonably priced). Each session was judgement-free and a lot of fun. We made a ton of progress over the time we worked with them. By the end of it, they were even able to teach me a few moves that I could use on the dance floor during the rest of the wedding. Trust me - as someone who has avoided the dance floor with a passion his entire life, that was valuable!
Peter and Marisa are one of a kind. They take a lot of pride in what they do, and my fiancee and I are so happy we found them.

For our 10 year anniversary my husband and I decided to get back into dancing more regularly so we booked some private lessons with Marissa. Marissa took the time to talk to us and find out what we really wanted out of our dance lessons, which was to dance well in social situations (like at weddings and galas), not relying on a routine we had learned. With just two private lessons she had my husband leading me better into turns and cuddles than he has in over 12 years of us being together as a couple. She is so great at explaining and breaking down the moves! It also makes for a fun date night activity. We look forward to learning even more in our future dance lessons at Boston Ballroom and consider ourselves very lucky to have found Marissa and Peter at Boston Ballroom.

My fiance(now wife) came to them with only two weeks left before our wedding asking if they could put together a couple of dance moves for us for our first dance. They not only showed us a few dance moves, they choreographed an entire song with only THREE SESSIONS!!! If it wasn't for their support, encouragement, and gregarious attitudes...I never would have been able to pull off such an awesome dance. They make you feel like you can accomplish anything...and I am no dancer, but on my wedding night I was!
My family was in shock at some of the moves we pulled on the dance floor - they couldn't believe their eyes. Not only are you going to learn how to dance - you are going to have one of the best times doing it, and it never hurts to look good on the dance floor. :)

f lessons leading up to our wedding were highlights of the whole planning process. Carving out a little time to spend together doing something fun (dancing!) was an amazing reprieve from the wedding planning madness. Having our “dance dates” before our big day were so much more than we expected. It relieve stress and reminded us how much fun we have together and how much we love each other - an important reminder amidst so many details and coordinating logistics of the wedding.
Our first dance was such a highlight of the day for me and one piece of the day that I will remember and cherish forever. They taught us a dance we could learn in under 2 weeks and we were so comfortable doing it that we were really able to enjoy the moment. Enjoying the moment in our first dance was something we valued so highly that we originally planned not to have a choreographed dance because we didn’t want to be worried about the next move instead of enjoying the current one. Marissa & Peter really nailed it teaching us a dance that was within our abilities, yet just challenging enough and really wowed our guests!! Taking dance lessons with here was one of the best decisions we made in the whole planning process (next to deciding to get married in the first place!) 😊
We are looking forward to continuing our dancing dates for years to come!

Neither of us had ever danced before, and in 5 lessons Marisa had us waltzing comfortably to a fully choreographed routine! Her patience, thoughtful instruction, planning and dancing demonstrations enabled us to learn quickly while really enjoying ourselves. As a total novice, I was surprised how easy she made it all seem. I felt more and more confident after each lesson. Once my dad and I were familiar with the steps, Marisa’s husband, Peter (co-owner), also viewed our dance and added his own constructive critiques. This really made us shine. I feel like we completely lucked out by picking Boston Ballroom Dance Center. Marisa and Peter are such encouraging and kind instructors, it’s easy to forget that they are also two highly skilled performers with an impressive amount of accolades. Their professional training was evident by just how well they prepared us for our father/daughter dance. We were so pleased with our dance that we opted to add 3 more lessons in order to add some special finishing touches like a bow/courtesy combo (got to include it for Beauty and the Beast!).
If you are considering dance lessons, it is worth it! It was special to spend time with my dad practicing something so meaningful before the wedding day. Our dance completely delighted our guests – they were literally oooing and ahhing – and it was by far the most instagrammed moment of the whole day.

ple of different styles. Marisa and Peter flawlessly helped us to master dances in a way that made us feel comfortable and look flawless. No easy task there! We enjoyed our time learning and felt very comfortable bringing our parents in.
Marisa and Peter work very hard to ensure you are getting your full value. You can rest assured they will never "up sell" or try to get you to purchase lessons that you do not need.
For our own big day I panicked close to the date and Marisa was very kind in getting us in for a last minute lesson. She even went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable with our entrance into the reception. This wasn't something I was even thinking about!
As a wedding vendor myself I know how deeply important it is to invest in wedding vendors you can trust. Boston Ballroom Dance Center exemplifies all of the qualities I strive to give my own clients. I refer them with no hesitation.

Peter and Marisa are bundles of energy. They are honest about where you're doing well and where you need work, and they can give you feedback in such a fun and hilarious way.
We were challenged every class, but never given anything that we couldn't handle.
