We really enjoyed our experience with Bunn DJ group! Phil was super nice and helpful before our event — he hopped on a call with us to get our full vision and even met with us early on the day of our reception so that we could practice our first dance. - Joe Bunn - FounderOwnerIt’s so hard to write about yourself, but here goes! I have been in the DJ business since 1986, and I can still rock with the best of ’em. I spent many years as just “DJ Joe Bunn” throughout middle school, high school, and college. After I graduated from college, I had several dead end jobs, but was always DJing in some form. One day, I had an epiphany. Why not turn this part-time job into my livelihood? I started looking for the best wedding DJs and other rising talent…and I found them.
- Steven FeinbergOwner/Head DJ, San Diego OfficeThe Head DJ and Owner of Bunn DJ Company San Diego, Steven Feinberg is a classically-trained musician who began his DJ career in high school and hasn’t stopped since! Apart from performing at countless events over the last twenty years, his career in music and the event services industry has included acting as a professional Festival/Conference Organizer, acting as Owner/Head DJ of his own award-winning venue (Mosaic Lounge) for 5 years, and earning his Master’s Degree at Duke University in GLS with a concentration in Music History / Ethnomusicology. He has also spent extended periods of time studying and living in Spain and Mexico and speaks Spanish. In addition to DJing around Southern California, he has played across the United States at events including the Winter Music Conference in Miami, New Orleans, Dallas, in numerous cities around his former home in North Carolina, and further abroad in London, Playa Del Carmen, and Ibiza. He has DJ’ed just about every type of event and music genre imaginable and loves applying his considerable experience to every event he plays! He prides himself on providing his clients with prompt, attentive, reliable, and professional service. When he isn’t Djing, you can find him somewhere out enjoying SoCal with his wife, two sons, and dog.
- Randy BennettPro DJAfter 38 years in the DJ business, you could say that music knowledge is Randy’s strength, not joke telling! He also ran an independent Record Store for 20 years and DJ’d the Friday Night mix show on G105 for a year in 1995 as well as in 2005 & 2006 every Friday night. He has been a Raleigh wedding DJ for 20 years and loves making the night everything that the couple hoped for.
- Frank MeldauPro DJFrank has been DJing ever since he was in 7th grade. Frank was the one with the jam box on field trips taking requests and rockin’ the bus. Randy Bennett knew Frank way back in the day during the times when there used to be record stores on every corner. Both of them ran independent stores in the Raleigh area. Frank was born in Raleigh and grew up in Durham. Later, he played drums in a high school rock band. For college, he decided to go to NC State where he would DJ at clubs and fraternity parties.
- Mitch WoodardPro DJMitch has been DJing for over 12 years now, and has had the opportunity to work at all types of events – making sure that each unique event receives the personal attention it deserves. Joe met Mitch one night while DJing. He talked about his DJ background and the standards of his service. Joe knew right away that he needed him on the team. Mitch always has a smile on his face when he comes to the office and spends his free time chasing his kids around, trying to hit the gym, and watching sports.
- Kent BlomsPro DJKent Bloms moved to North Carolina from North Dakota in 2004 leaving behind a DJ and nightclub business. When he got married a year later and needed a wedding DJ, guess who he called? That’s right, Joe Bunn. One thing lead to another and a few months after their wedding, Kent realized the “DJ bug” had bitten again and he wanted to get back into the business. The rest, as they say, is history. Wow, that is cliche. Kent has been DJ’ing for clubs, parties, and weddings since 1998. Along with DJ’ing he runs Classic Carolina Photobooths, Inc., is a high school business teacher, and also coaches JV basketball. In his 10 minutes per day of free time he enjoys spending time with his 2 boys and playing basketball and baseball.
- Mark McNallyPro DJMark McNally was born and bred in Belfast, Ireland where he lived until the age of 27. He moved to the states in 2007 and now resides here in North Carolina with his wife Charlene and three young children, Alex, Kristin & Conor. Yes, he still has the Irish accent, No, he doesn’t know Bono. Mark has been spinning records since he was a teenager and really knows how to control a dance floor and keep the party going. His personality is felt at every event and everyone is always responding to how much they loved hearing his Irish Brogue. Mark states, “I really love what I do. For me DJ’ing is not a job, it’s a passion. It’s great to be a part of the best in the business with Joe Bunn and the entire DJ team. I look forward to making your event a memorable one. Chifidh me ar an urlar thu (translation: I’ll see you on the dance floor) in Gaelic”.
- Kalonji OliverPro DJI grew up loving music mostly soul, funk, and adult R&B. I was a drummer and drum major in high school, then a DJ roadie and assistant throughout college. Becoming a DJ was just another creative expression for me. “When I saw that Bunn DJ Company was hiring, I met with Joe and realized this was a company that I wanted to work for! I am excited to see minds, bodies, and souls moving to the music.”
- Mark ToneyPro DJJoe met Mark at a local restaurant where he used to DJ on Thursdays. Mark just kept showing up week after week and wanting to do a “set”. After seeing his skills, Joe hired him on the spot. He is a great asset to any type of party. Mark Toney started DJ’ing in New Jersey and New York in 1990. After burning out on the “city life”, he moved down south to North Carolina to start fresh. His love of music carried through and he is now working weddings, clubs, private parties, and other events. His spare time is devoted to music, basketball, and watching sports. Mark writes, “I’m proud to be part of the Bunn DJ Company roster. My years of experience will make your event shine.”
- Cody DanielPro DJGrowing up with a family-owned DJ company, Cody was literally born into the business. Having access to a library of the classic hits from the time he was able to listen, and attending gigs/events from middle school dances to marriages, he has a boatload of experience with entertaining people musically for over 12 years!He is also an aspiring songwriter who is constantly collaborating with some of the best producers in North Carolina and is really in-depth with the modern pop culture as well. - Jeff EllisPro DJJeff is a 70’s baby who was born and raised in Harlem, NYC. Jeff was exposed to DJ’ing firsthand from his roommate at UNC-CH in the late ’80s. Since that experience, he has provided music for clients, family, and friends for various events over a number of years. Since launching as an official DJ, he has expanded his repertoire to include music from the old school radio stations in NYC, Dancehall and Soca due to his family lineage, the 80’s / 90’s club and house scene of New Jersey and Chicago, and old school Hip Hop. With all of these genres mixed all into one show, he has entertained crowds ranging from eighth-grade semi-formals to corporate holiday events, to 50-year milestone celebrations. “I remember DJ Joe Bunn from my UNC days and am excited to be a part of the Bunn DJ Company team”.

I moved to Raleigh in 1997 and I enjoyed hitting the scene with my buddies and we used to go to places where Joe or Randy Bennett seemed to be DJing. Although I loved to dance, I was always interested in what was coming NEXT on the 1’s & 2’s! Fast forward to 2003, I am attending my friend’s wedding and during the reception, they ask me, “Kings, go pick some jams and get this party going.” I walked over to the DJ and asked if I could pick some songs (a big NO-NO with any of the Bunn DJ’s…LOL). I preceded to pull a stack of CDs (old school) and then simply asked the DJ, “How do you run your gear?” He showed me and I took over for the rest of the night (he took a long smoke break)…true story!
- Darion ElderPro DJI’ve been described as a bit of a music junkie by those closest to me. There’s just something about music that has always spoken to me more so than my peers. When I was younger, there was an absolute zero chance of you catching me without my headphones. Throughout the years I began to find multiple outlets to express this passion. One of those outlets was songwriting. I began songwriting as an early teen and it would eventually introduce me to a world that I am still very much a part of – production and studio engineering. As an adult I found myself craving more though; I could never have enough music. When a buddy of mine, Bunn DJ Steven Mayes, approached me with the idea of DJing, I jumped on board without question. I had finally found something that gave me the satisfaction I was looking for! I realized that the only thing better than creating or listening to music was the chance to share it with others. Reading the crowd, playing the perfect song at the perfect time and making sure everyone is having an absolute blast is what I do best.
- Steven MayesPro DJWell, here it goes – a little about me, myself and music. I’ve been making and mixing music since I was 12 years old. When I was a kid I’d spend hours and hours on tracklists for CDs. I’d get a stack of 100 discs at a time to make mixes on. I made a soundtrack for everything! I would make it all – 80’s/90’s Pop and RnB, Country, Rock/Metal, Techno/House, Hip Hop – and everything in between. I’d experiment with mixing genres and wouldn’t push “Burn” until it was just right. When I got deeper into my teenage years I picked up the guitar and played in a few garage bands. I did whatever I could to get plugged into music every single day. In my more recent years, I’ve been focusing more on the professional side of music – collaborating with a few peers for music production and putting my talent to use with my real passion – DJing. It’s my number one favorite thing to do and I can definitely get a dance floor moving with the perfect soundtrack for any event!
- Matt MillerPro DJAs a valued member of several award-winning musical ensembles, Matt’s appreciation for and natural ability in music was apparent from a very early age. It wasn’t until meeting a random stranger at a nightclub provided him an opportunity to get behind a mixing board, that he realized his unique gifts and interests in music were leading him to a promising career as a DJ. In 2010, he performed his first solo gig and was offered a returning position as the club lead DJ that same night. David has performed on hundreds of occasions during his 17+ year DJ career, from clubs to weddings to corporate events. and our wedding venue, and we are so glad we did! Our DJ was Jon Feist and he was AMAZING! We would give him 10/5 stars if we could. Jon was super nice and always checking in with us. He made sure to talk with us before the event and even offered to get us drinks during dinner. He did a wonderful job doing all the announcements through the night and helped everyone that was using a microphone feel comfortable with it. Jon also did an ABSOLUTE AMAZING job with the reception. We had a packed dance floor all night and still have people telling us how amazing our DJ was. Everyone loved DJ Jon and said they felt like they could never leave the dance floor since it was just back to back bangers. Everyone had an absolute blast. There was never a lull in the night and he did so well transitioning from one song to the next, no one ever left the dance floor. If you want a great party with a great dance floor, definitely go with DJ Jon Feist!
As far as the logistics side goes, the booking process was super easy, and they had a variety of packages to choose from with everything you might need. Prior to the event, their forms to fill out song requests for everything were super easy and they sent plenty of reminders to get it in before the event.

A full band wasn’t in our budget, so we chose a DJ instead and it was the best decision. We paired Phil with a live saxophonist (David Glymph), and together they created the perfect atmosphere.

made me feel super supported. Any questions I had were answered within 24 hours. He launched a new platform with us and it really changed the planning game. It gave me an extremely nice visual of what my big day was going to sound like (strange way to put it, I know). I gave him a list of what I wanted to hear and he did some serious DJ magic and made it work. We went from 90's country, yacht rock, today's county and then ventured into some old hip hop and rap. He kept up with all of my crazy ideas for the ceremony and introductions. We had an audio guest book and a photo booth. The instructions for the guest book were clear, the photos had the best props and came with a scrap book for the guests to sign as well. Joe and his team really came prepared and had everything run extremely smooth. I highly recommend this company for any and every event. They really make you feel heard and aren't afraid of any challenges!
PS - the CO2 gun was the biggest hit, my husband couldn't put it down!

One of the things that impressed us most was his ability to play music that appealed to guests of all ages. The dance floor stayed busy, and the vibes were incredible from start to finish. He was also an amazing hype man—keeping everyone engaged without ever feeling over-the-top.
We had a few unique ideas for our wedding, and he was completely on board with all of them. His positive attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm made the entire experience even better. He truly went above and beyond anything we could have hoped for, and he played a huge role in making our wedding unforgettable.

The online tools from Bunn DJ made curating and sharing a playlist of our favorite songs as well as what songs to use where (first dance, wedding party introductions, last dance, etc) a breeze as well as very user friendly. Frank was a great MC, and got 150 guests wrangled to several different rooms throughout the night between cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing (all in different parts of our venue)! He did a great job balancing songs for different age groups as well as when to let songs play out longer or mix into the next song more quickly if the crowd was not into it. He is a big reason our dance floor was packed all night long! We were very happy with Bunn DJ Company Virginia’s services and specifically Frank’s skill as a DJ. Also, if it is within your budget, get the club cannons. Firing those off on our dancefloor was pure electricity for the energy on the dancefloor!

He went above and beyond by incorporating a special mix that my Dad created, which meant so much to us and added such a personal touch to our day. He kept the energy up all night and had people out on the dance floor from start to finish of all ages. He played an amazing variety of music, and he helped us organize the music with an online portal which made planning super easy!
Leading up to the wedding, Frank was also incredibly easy to work with. He checked in frequently, communicated well, and made us feel confident that everything was under control. We truly never had to worry.
We are so grateful for everything he did and would highly recommend him and Bunn DJ RVA to anyone looking for a DJ who is professional, attentive, and knows exactly how to keep the party going! Truly our favorite vendor of the evening! Thank you Frank!!
