DJs are important always, but especially for a COVID wedding, we knew our DJ would be crucial to help keep the night rolling with some of the alternate activities we had planned since we weren't allowed a traditional dance floor. Rob was great in keeping the night going while also striking a balance between fun and keeping COVID safe and compliant. AJ and Rob were both personable, talented and great to work with - would highly recommend using Columbus Pro DJs!

He is such a friendly, welcoming guy, he made everyone on the dance floor feel so comfortable and it made for an amazing night from start to finish!! I think from the second the dance floor opened until the end of the night that dance floor was packed. He kept everything on track throughout cocktail hour/dinner/speeches and it went as close to flawless as you can get. Highly recommend!

Rob made sure to have a personal call with us ahead of the wedding to make sure we were aligned on everything and get to know us a bit more, which was great. We had our reception at a brewery, which was a new location for Rob and for having never seen the location until the day of, execution of location, speakers, lights, etc. was perfect. Working with AJ to book and discuss logistics early on in the booking process was easy as well. They provide an easy to use program for selecting songs and were happy to accommodate any requests we had that weren't in there. Happy with our decision!

Our guests were wanting to mingle more than dance, and Rob knew just how to get them on the dance floor. In the questionnaire that he had me fill out I was asked what kind of bride I was and I specifically put that I was a little OCD and a perfectionist and I had a specific vision for the wedding music. I wrote down the name and artist of each and every song I wanted played. My husband and I worked HARD on this list. The entire night I heard probably 10 songs that I requested. Extremely mad about this and I felt our time was wasted. During the actually ceremony I noticed we were waiting and waiting on something to begin. My wedding coordinator came in to where the girls were standing in like waiting to walk out and she asked “where is the DJ????” Extremely confused I had no clue. It was 5:30 and he was supposed to have been playing music at the ceremony since 5:00. Turns out he had left to change his clothes. Pretty sure I would have rather had my music playing with him in jeans and a T-shirt then no DJ at all. No one was looking at him! I am not necessarily mad at this part- but just a tip for future brides, talk about introductions of things. Our DJ stopped music and gave extremely long explanations on the microphone of what was happening. Like we were introduced and then wanted to immediately do our first dance and once we got to the dance floor we had to wait for him to talk about how we picked out a pretty song and how everyone should sit and watch and we were going to be sharing our first dance LIKE YES THEY KNOW COME ON! The whole night the whole bridal party commented on how the DJ just liked to hear his own voice. Same things happened for garter toss, dinner, speeches, bouquet toss, etc. He also announced that we were sneaking away for sunset pictures- kinda ruined the whole sneaking away thing. The last thing was a heart breaker. I had told my DJ I was going to come up to him and tell him when I was ready to have my dance with my grandfather. He is extremely sick and we didn’t even think he was going to make it to the wedding, but he did. It was getting a little bit late and my grandpa decided he was just too tired and needed to go. I ran up to the DJ and said we need to play my grandpas song right now! I got him to stay and helped him walk to the dance floor and on comes “lollipop” by lil Wayne. Instead of immediately changing it to our song he let the whole song play while EVERYONE was off the dance floor staring and me and my grandpa waiting patiently to share this dance together. No one was dancing, everyone wanted to see this special moment knowing what it meant and the DJ wouldn’t switch the song. I was LIVID. I would have been happier renting some good speakers and trusting someone with a playlist from my phone. Would have cost less too. AJ was awesome, just wish he was our DJ instead of this guy.

to make it happen. My son is currently deployed and could not be at the wedding. I proposed the idea of doing a FaceTime call, and asked about hooking up to the DJ sound system and projection screen so that my son could participate and surprise the bride and groom with a live toast at the reception. When I initially discussed it with AJ, he made it clear that due to circumstances beyond his control in connecting a phone call half way around the world, he couldn't guarantee 100% that it would work. (I had a recorded version ready as a back up) Over several weeks, we exchanged several emails and texts figuring out logistics. Communication with them was always great, they were very speedy with responding. A week before the wedding, we did a trial run phone call, and it didn't work. The morning of the wedding, I turned my phone - passwords and all - over to AJ and Rob so that while we were busy with the ceremony they could continue to work on making it happen. Much to my surprise and delight, they made it work! My son was able to participate in the reception from the other side of the world, and the bride and groom were surprised as well! There is no way to thank AJ and Rob enough for making that happen. As far as the rest of the reception, they were fantastic. AJ and Rob are the perfect balance of energetic, fun, polite and professional. I would absolutely recommend Columbus Pro DJs for your event!

Sunday wedding so we weren't expecting a huge party vibe). We saw that the reviews for Columbus Pro DJs were mostly good with some bad sprinkled in with complaints about communication. We naively continued to book Columbus Pro DJs. My husband's discussions with AJ were fine. We found him to be helpful but when it came to being assigned a DJ, our experience completely changed. My husband and I kept going back and forth on what song we wanted for our first dance. The day before our wedding we reached out to our DJ and let him know of our final decision. He confirmed that they had the correct song in their catalogue and changed our selection. Knowing this was a last minute change, we again followed up with our assigned DJ on the morning of our wedding and even during cocktail hour before our reception. Each time, he reassured us that he had the correct song. Upon meeting our DJ in person, he seemed disheveled and nothing like a "professional". When asking him questions that we had previously gone over with AJ (most were questions I shouldn't be answering on my wedding day anyways), he continuously cut us off and it was obvious he wasn't listening. Before our entrance into the reception, he went over all of the names. During the actual entrance, he managed to get most of the names correct but when it came to our entrance, he loudly pronounced my name incorrectly (he clearly said Katie instead of Kalie). Upon realizing he said my name wrong, he asked my mother in law if he should do it again. Luckily, she said no, since I don't know which is more embarrassing, being introduced incorrectly at our wedding or having to do it again. The music was fine during the eating portion of the reception. Our choices were mostly used and that was appreciated because we clearly did not trust our DJ. When getting to the first dance, my husband and I got up to dance looking forward to sharing this moment with our loved ones. The song we chose meant so much to us and we had practiced it in our living room the day before. As we walked to the dance floor, we realized that the DJ was playing the wrong song. Not wanting to make a scene in front of our guests, we both went along with it but it was no where near as special and we will never get that moment back. Thinking about it today still breaks my heart. The DJ seemed to know something was wrong after the dance and came over to us. We explained that he had played the wrong some. At first he denied it, but my husband told him that he not only called the day before and reminded him today, the DJ replied with "oh, that was you?". At that moment, I just had to walk away. Luckily my husband and I have wonderful friends that requested the song later on (although the DJ instead of letting it be a surprise, came and found us to ask about it). Honestly, I could give multiple other examples about how this "professional" DJ did not do his job correctly but those two instances are so rudimentary that to this day, it astounds me that he is even considered a "professional". By booking this company, you cannot be sure they will send a qualified person that can even perform the basics of the job.

you wanted/didn’t need. They helped us complete the “timeline” for our wedding. Kinsey was our DJ and he was so nice to us at our wedding! He was very attentive to our needs (including playing a lot of Taylor Swift for me) and did an awesome job doing all of the announcements and DJing. Our dance floor was crowded the entire night (all ages) and we got a ton of compliments on the music. Thank you so much Columbus Pro DJs for helping us throw a fun wedding!

My favorite part was at the end -- He gathered everyone on to the dance floor and played "Closing Time" -- Literally EVERYONE danced. My husband and I were crying, my parents were crying, our friends were crying. It was the PERFECT way to end the reception. I just can't say enough good things about him. We are some of the first of our friends/cousins to get married, and we will definitely be recommending your company (and Joe!) to them.

Rob played the EXACT kind of music we requested and my husband was VERY particular. He even stayed late to play us one last song. Joe also stayed late in the photo booth for us because we were having so much fun. You can tell these two guys really love what they do and have so much fun doing it. Thank you for making our special night so memerable not only for my husband and I but for all of our guests!

The DJ also allowed for random and unplanned toasts which took time away from dancing and was unwanted and unnecessary. The DJ also forgot to announce my Dad's toast during the portion of my reception dedicated to toasts. We ended up requesting my dad do his toast later so that it was not completely taken away from the evening. When I booked the DJ they assured me that songs can be chosen ahead of time, however, they limit song quantities for each part of the event, allowing the DJ to choose many songs on their own, which is not what I agreed to when I decided to book this company in the first place. I told the company during a planning meeting, that we did not want oldies played besides a few that were preselected, and the very first song that he played was Shout. When I contacted the owner of the company regarding some of the chaos that occurred during my reception, he obtained video footage, of the event from my photographer without my consent or knowledge. I was given no apology or refund and am very disappointed that I chose them for such an important evening in my life.

We made some pretty specific requests regarding the ceremony and cocktail hour/dinner music (I have a background in classical music and my husband really like jazz) and Joe pulled it off seamlessly! AJ also really helped ahead of time with the organization/timeline of events. We received so many compliments on Joe's DJ-ing and a ton of our guests stayed until the end of the night. Joe checked in with my mom and made her feel so special and he checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. I honestly can't say enough about Joe and Columbus Pro DJs. I strongly recommend meeting with them! You can tell they really want to personalize each wedding and make the day about that specific couple.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the photo booth and photos. The screen where we looked to take pictures kept freezing and if there was the slightest bit of movement the photos were completely blurred. Even those where everyone kept still were poor quality. We not only noticed it ourselves but had several comments from our guests about it. Overall, highly recommend the the DJ service of this company but find a photo booth somewhere else!

all about two weeks before the wedding (only because I requested it that early, usually they only call a week before. If your a bride like me, waiting that long for an integral part of the wedding, was not going to fly.) He was very mouthy and every time he asked my opinion about something, I was met with why that opinion was wrong or why he thought he had a better way of executing that request. He was friendly overall, but pushy. He then called me a few days before the wedding to confirm specific versions of songs for the ceremony/reception. I sent him a detailed email the week before, including track numbers, the artist and album the song came from, and the name of the song itself. I ended up walking down the aisle the wrong version of the song and my bridal party ended up walking in to the reception to the wrong version of the song as well. I was not happy. Then the actual DJ that we had at the wedding was supbar as well. He kept playing the same 15 songs on repeat at our dinner, rather than just pulling songs that were around the same genre, even though that's what was told to us originally. He played all of our must-plays, which thank goodness we had, because the minute he could make his own decisions, the dance floor emptied. I went over to my family and and bridal party and started asking them what songs I should request, because it was dead if he was choosing. The last thing that happened was that they brought me a comment card at the end of the evening as I was trying to go to my after party. Then he wanted me to hand it right back to him when I finished it. I thought this was insensitive and bad business. First off, I wasn't honest on the card, and second, I was exhausted just trying to enjoy the small portion that was left of my wedding night. The last thing I wanted to was fill out a comment card, especially one that I wanted to be accurate and truthful. So, here I am.

A great DJ can really elevate the evening from good to amazing, and that is what he did. From the pre-planning process with Joe and Andy, to my consultation with Rob, everything went smoothly and was so organized. I cannot recommend Rob and the rest of the team enough. They are worth every cent.

at the company - his name is Joe. He wanted to call us to discuss some details prior to Chris calling us. He was really inflexible with my schedule (I work till 5, and since I work at OSU I can't really get anywhere until 6 or so due to traffic, and my lunch break isn't really set since my job is super unpredictable) and refused to talk to us after 5 pm, so my mom called him during the afternoon. He kept talking over her and wouldn't really let her say anything (the conversation was 2 hours!), and basically criticized the music choices that we made and said "maybe she should pick stuff that people will actually dance to" or something to that effect. So that was somewhat obnoxious but again, the actual DJ was fantastic. I would recommend them overall!

had a perfect presence—he encouraged people to get out on the dance floor without being obnoxious, and did a great job coordinating all the moving pieces of a wedding reception. That being said, the planning process was a little less than ideal. A few emails didn’t go through, which made it tough to begin the process. Once we got started, the online portal was great, and our interactions with AJ were fine, but our final planning conversation with Joe was one of the more bizarre elements of our wedding planning process. Ten minutes of the conversation were taken up by Joe strenuously trying to convince us that it was a terrible idea to go from table to table talking to people during dinner. (While this may be true, we had no other option based on the location and timing of our ceremony and reception.) Joe does have significant wedding experience, but it seemed odd to spend so much time telling us to change something that we couldn’t change. The conversation actually made us question our decision to book Columbus Pro DJs, but since we were so close to the wedding, we couldn’t really do anything about it. Bottom line—Mike was great, the company itself was fine, but be prepared for some quirks in the process.

He ended up giving us some of the best wedding advice we received throughout the entire wedding process! He really knows his stuff. And if we needed anything or had a question about anything at all he responded to our text messages within minutes. He took so much of the stress off of our shoulders knowing what a great job he would do. We luckily got to have him run our photo booth that day too so he even got to be a part of the big day. Chris was wonderful also! He ran everything so smoothly. When you choose a DJ you really are choosing someone who is going to keep your evening running smoothly and make sure that everything stays on schedule (which is more difficult than you realize). If you choose this company I can promise you that you will get all of that and more! They love what they do and they will make that your wedding day is as important to them as it is to you :)

nly remember one song falling a little flat, and multiple friends asked us if we had personally planned the whole playlist. Rob found (on the fly!) perfect song snippets to play after each toast, including one slightly-obscure TV theme song. Most importantly, Rob took ownership of making sure everything post-ceremony ran smoothly. Our wedding was planned from out of state, with no coordinator or planner, and from our first conversation, Rob took ownership over making sure the reception ran smoothly - even though we didn't meet him until the reception itself! Rob also gave us the excellent idea of introducing the (very not-sappy) father-daughter dance in a very sappy way, just to catch everyone by surprise - and it was *awesome.*

e last few days leading up to the wedding. Joe had his finger on the pulse of the room at all times. He even kept checking to make sure my new husband and I were ok or in need of anything. One of the guest posted on facebook, we had the best dance playlist ever! THANK YOU JOE AND THANK YOU COLUMBUS PROS DJ........our day was perfect!!!
