My name is Andy Hughes, owner and founder of Columbus Pro DJs. I started my career in college by doing radio as , AJ Andrews, on a small radio station but that gave me the opening I needed. Then a few years later, I worked for a large entertainment company that eventually, I noticed , began to put profits ahead of people. I vowed that if I ever had my own company, I’d put the client first, and that is exactly what I’ve done since I founded this company more than two decades ago.

We had the pleasure of having AJ from “Columbus Pro DJ” DJ and MC our wedding reception. From the moment we booked, AJ was extremely communicative and helpful. He helped us arrange an early setup time so that he didn’t disturb our cocktail hour, and with short notice before our wedding, he was more than happy to accommodate us with adding an extra hour of play time. We were extremely impressed with the attention to detail on CPDJ’s online planning platform. We were able to add must-plays, do-not-plays, and requests/dedications on our own time in the months leading up to our wedding. The thing we most loved about the service was that AJ helped us to fulfill some family cultural traditions and play the traditional folk music required to do a traditional Macedonian pig dance and pogacha (bread dance). He was right on time with everything we needed, and the night flowed wonderfully. Our dance floor always had people on it, and his transitions between songs were amazing. My only note is that there were a couple songs on my must-play list that never got played, but I understand he was reading the energy of the crowd and playing off of that. We had so many guests come up to us and say it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and we don’t doubt that our DJ choice played a huge role in that statement! We are so happy we invested in a professional, and we will always remember those amazing memories! Thank you AJ and Columbus Pro DJs!

DJ followed our playlist to a T. Sound quality was good. Music wasn’t too loud/too quiet. Cost is a bit pricey but not unreasonable for a wedding vendor. The only mishap we had was a battery dying on the microphone during the ceremony.

PJ was fantastic! We had a tailgate-themed reception at the CBC Taproom. We’re huge football fans and knew our guests would want to watch the OSU/Oregon game. So did we, but we also wanted to dance and toast and celebrate our marriage. PJ spent an entire evening with us, planning our night and creating a timeline to include our grand entrance, speeches, first dances and other traditional reception activities. He didn’t bat an eye when we asked him to coordinate all of this around kick-off and halftime! The end result- we had the most amazing night; the dance floor was hopping all night and nearly every one of our 100+ guests made a point to tell us it was the best party ever! Beginning with our initial conversation with AJ to the end of the reception with PJ, everything was perfect and I never worried about anything. Except the final score of the game but we don’t think that was PJs fault, haha. I highly recommend Columbus Pro DJs.

AJ was awesome to work with! Communication was great from day one! My husband and I booked with Columbus Pro DJs early because we had a longer engagement, but AJ continued to check in with us throughout the planning process. The online form was super easy to use and any questions we had, AJ was helpful and happy to answer. We also chose to add a Photo Booth to our dance package which was a HUGE hit with guests! The wedding reception ran smoothly thanks to AJ and he communicated with us about timing throughout the night which was very helpful. I would highly recommend Columbus Pro DJs for weddings and other events! :)

They are amazing! Our original DJ cancelled 4 days before our wedding. They were able to accommodate us last minute, had great communication and the planning portal was also very easy to use. AJ was professional and very timely, which was important to us since we had to get everything planned in such a short amount of time. We had a great time at our wedding with Jermaine he was interactive with the crowd and kept everyone on the dance floor. My guests commented all night on how great The DJ was!

He was always available for questions leading up to the wedding and his checklist made the process very easy to follow. Rob and Columbus Pro DJs was absolutely amazing! They were easy to work with and did a great job. Even with a couple of rain delays, Rob was able to quickly get everything set to be outside, and then was quickly able to pivot when we went inside. He went above and beyond our expectations was extremely helpful in coordinating everyone. When it started to rain, he was ready with options for the ceremony. He even helped time people to go down the aisle and the music went off without a hitch! Rob helped keep everyone on track and let us know when dinner was going to be a little delayed, and let us know when it was time to do the reception entrances so no one was guessing. He even offered to carry my dinner plate! He did a great job with the music and it flowed well throughout the night. I would highly recommend Rob and can’t thank him enough for being so flexible. If you’re looking for a DJ, Rob is your guy! He is detailed oriented and very organized and knows what needs to happen without you even having to ask. By far our favorite vendor that we worked with for our wedding!

I got married 2 months ago and we used Rob from Columbus Pro DJs. Rob called us a week before the wedding and let us know the timeline and what to expect from him. He really listened to our wants and needs and was so accommodating. I did not get off the dance floor all night and my guests all complimented the music and vibes so much! He got the guests involved with the walk ins and really set the high mood for the night. Rob even took some photos of us throughout the night and sent them to us the next week which was so thoughtful and fun to look at. I could not recommend them enough!

We used Columbus Pro DJ’s for our wedding a few weeks ago and Andy was truly amazing! He worked with us on all of our music requests (which were all over the place). Andy set up our reception and ceremony perfectly. We had an outdoor ceremony and the audio was perfect, all 160 guests could hear everything perfectly and didn’t catch a lot of wind in the mics! When it came to the reception he executed the entire night wonderfully and so easy! He made sure guests were seated on time and eating food so they were ready when speeches came along. The dance floor was electric all night!! I really don’t have anything negative to say I would highly recommend Andy for your wedding!

Chris and AJ were absolutely the best! They were very professional and responsive the whole way through. They made sure our requests were honored, and expertly filled in the gaps. We gave Chris a weird mix of music for the reception, and he ran with it and kept the party going all night long. During our planning meetings, AJ would bring up important things to think about that we'd missed, and offered expert advice based on his experience, which was really helpful. We would highly recommend them.

He used our song selections as a guide and played music we enjoyed all night. We simply cannot speak highly enough about Columbus Pro DJ's, and specifically DJ Rob - he is THE MAN! He worked alongside all of our vendors and made the day went very smoothly without a single hiccup. When it came time to party, DJ Rob exceeded any and all expectations with his transitions, mash-ups, etc. it was EPIC. Our outdoor wedding quickly became an indoor wedding after multiple pop-up storms began rolling through Columbus. Columbus Pro DJs were calm, cool and collected about the entire process of switching to plan B. Their patience and flexibility was incredibly comforting. When the music did finally begin, they executed everything just as we had discussed and kept our guests engaged and dancing all night long. Columbus Pro DJs were absolutely amazing!!!!! AJ coordinated the event with us and was extremely detail oriented and extremely knowledgeable. Our DJ, Rob was outstanding!! We asked him to mix two songs for our first dance. Rob was able the create the mix and send it to us ahead of time for our approval. His music choices were exactly what we were looking for! We’re not fans of all the regular songs you hear at every single wedding. It was hard to take a break from the dance floor because song after song was amazing. Everyone kept coming up to us throughout the night to rave about the DJ. Just all around a really great experience. Their customer portal is easy to use, their communication is excellent, and by far the best value in price!

Pros: they handled the set up well and figured it out with the venue - about where to plug stuff in and where to place everything (but only after being prompted to discuss it with the venue directly). There was no problem with the quality of the sound during the ceremony or reception. Overall, the selected songs were within what we wanted. Cons: There was some weird misunderstanding and lack of communication which resulted in me having to double-check our first dance song the day of, when I got to the venue. The DJ also didn't really match the songs to the groups dancing (switching to slow songs while only a group of the bride and her friends remained on the dance floor, thus disbanding the group). Our requested songs were all played in random order at the end of the night, seemingly as an after-thought, instead of mixed in during the set.

AJ was absolutely wonderful! Throughout the whole planning process he communicated so well and made sure we had exactly what we wanted for our wedding. He was very personable and friendly. Everything flowed flawlessly thanks to his announcements and ability to keep people entertained and excited. The dance floor at our wedding was smaller, but it was packed! He even helped us do a private last dance at the end of the wedding. I cannot recommend him enough!

Just make sure you don’t end up with Rob as your DJ. He was playing songs to keep the younger crowd somewhat in to it but refused to play anything to get the parents, uncles, aunts, etc. on the dance floor. When we requested a song, he literally laughed in our face. After 8 of us requested the same song, he finally played it but not before he made some shitty comment about how it was totally different. Definitely do not recommend if Rob is the dj.

ought the DJ was AWESOME. Guests at weddings don't always agree with what the client wants and have not been a part of the planning process. Our clients (not their guests) hired the DJ, consulted with the DJ in advance to discuss their music preferences and trusted the DJ to do his job and fill a dance floor and that is exactly what he did. Good DJs know when a certain song, while it may be a good song, just doesn't "fit in" to what the vibe is "in the moment" and may not at all basing this decision on the several planning meetings in advance and the DJ reading the crowd day of show. While our DJs appreciate and will take requests and play those requests, if he feels it will fit in. If it doesn't, he won't . . the Bride and Groom still comes first

DJ HP was a BLAST to have at our wedding reception! He was so kind and polite and made sure that everything ran super smooth the whole night! He also had such a fun and upbeat energy that kept the party alive. Our photo booth attendant Lauren was also great! She was so sweet and helpful with the photo booth all night and knew all the perfect filters to use for everyone! We recommend using Columbus Pro DJ's and requesting these 2 for your wedding day if you want a fun-loving crew leading the entertainment!

AJ was quick to respond to any emails/calls. Our wedding was different and AJ was attentive to every detail. Our DJ was Rob and he was fabulous. We had a long conversation the week before the wedding. He wanted to understand every aspect so that he "hit the mark" and believe me, he did. AJ made this process so easy! We recently had our reception on 8/21/21. AJ was willing to create our father/daughter dance song to be unique and start the party. The dance floor was never empty! He helped navigate us through the process. He was super responsive and super reasonable prices. The photobooth was also a hit!

AJ is so easy to work with when leading up to the wedding. On our wedding day everything ran super smooth and our guest had a blast dancing to his play list. Lauren did a great job helping with our photo booth! It was a hit with all our guests and I am so happy to get access to all the fun photos taken that night.

Wonderful DJ, everyone was so polite and truly wanted to know what I wanted to play at my wedding. And was even willing to search for the music if they didn’t have it. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you guys for making my reception soo much fun!!

I previously used Columbus Pro DJs for work events through the years, and was not disappointed when we booked them for our wedding! They kept everything moving, guests dancing, and I played great music! Would highly recommend them to anyone for their wedding day!

Hassan Lowery was outstanding. He read the room perfectly and mixed the music so everyone was dancing the whole night. He did amazing controlling the mic and multiple transitions based in our timeline. Would definitely recommend him and Columbus Pro DJ’s (AJ does a wonderful job getting everything set up and following up with you until the day of the event). 10/10

It was very very easy to work with AJ, and he accommodated all our requests. Very happy that we went with Columbus Pro DJs. when i had first put in the request for a DJ, not many people responded. AJ was very prompt, he was the first one who responded, and we went with him. Didn't shop around etc, and I am very pleased with our decision to go with AJ.

Columbus Pro DJs we’re nothing short of excellent. Our DJ, Rob, was timely and communicated well with us leading up to the wedding. During the ceremony there were no hiccups in any audio functions, and the reception was a banger! I recommend these guys to anyone else in the area getting married or looking to have someone DJ an event.

AJ really was all I could have asked for! I never understood why it's so important to have an experienced DJ until I worked with him. His insight saved lots of hiccups in our day that would have otherwise probably occurred. I realized your DJ is sort of like the glue of a wedding- so many people at your wedding depend on them to know the schedule: guests and other vendors. I would tell any prospective couple to go with AJ for his expertise, attention to detail, and personality. He made it easy. The entire day I didn't worry about him, the music, etc because I knew he had it under control. Exactly what you want on your wedding day. Thank you AJ!

The whole team at Columbus Pro DJs was fantastic! AJ was wonderful to work with from start to finish. I am a very "type A" bride so I appreciated the thorough planning forms and calls that were easy to fill out and easy to do and helped make the process smooth. Our DJ for the night was Rob and he was great! DJs are important always, but especially for a COVID wedding, we knew our DJ would be crucial to help keep the night rolling with some of the alternate activities we had planned since we weren't allowed a traditional dance floor. Rob was great in keeping the night going while also striking a balance between fun and keeping COVID safe and compliant. AJ and Rob were both personable, talented and great to work with - would highly recommend using Columbus Pro DJs!
