Michael from Dancing Shoes DJ and Lighting was incredible. The DJ can make or break a wedding and he couldn’t have been a greater pick. He took the time to chat with us for hours asking us what we want and what he has to offer months before the wedding and again weeks before. He lived up to every expectation we had and the dance floor moving the entire night! Our guests continually were telling us how awesome our DJ is. He knows exactly when to play what song and how to evolve the dancing throughout the night. We booked Mike as our DJ and Lighting specialist about a year out from our wedding. From the moment we reached out, he was fully responsive and professional filling us in on every detail that went into his DJ process for weddings. Not only is he extremely passionate about music in general, but he also thoroughly supported our vision and stuck to our playlists we provided while making sure the family stayed on the dance floor all night long. Mike and his team also did an amazing lighting setup with string market lights and Chinese lanterns that really captured everything we had in mind, making our night unique and special to us. Mike was the DJ for our wedding, and he did such a fantastic job. He was so helpful with suggestions on how we can pick music to play for the different generations of guests at our wedding, as well as explaining all the different times we may want a specific song to play. We had so much fun dancing to all the hits and favorites he played throughout the night, and he totally nailed our vision. We would highly recommend him and his company for anyone's special day!

On October 15, 2023, we celebrated our wedding in Estes Park, and Cate Olson exceeded our expectations. We wholeheartedly recommend her as our venue's DJ, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Mike DJed, emceed, and provided lighting for our wedding. He did a fabulous job and made our night memorable and fun! He is very professional and easy to work with. When we made a last minute change of our first dance song he rolled with it and adjusted the scheduled so that everything else wasn't affected. We got lots of comments about how great the DJ was. Would 100% recommend Mike!

If I could give Cate and the Dancin' Shoes team more than 5 stars I would. We had such an incredible experience with the entire team and it's obvious they are true pros. They were willing to answer questions as we were gathering quotes, took time to learn more about us to tailor their music choices, met up with us before the wedding day to make sure everything was in order, and went above and beyond on the actual day. The music was incredible and Cate did a fantastic job taking our recommendations but also reading the dance floor, taking requests, and interacting with guests. But she also did so much more to make our day run smoothly. She helped corral vendors, released tables, did MC'ing, and kept us on schedule. And most importantly, she kept the dance floor packed the entire reception. We've had at least 10 people tell us Cate was the best DJ/dance floor they've seen at a wedding and we couldn't agree more. Michael is exactly what you want for your wedding. Many people came up to us and said it was the best wedding they have ever been to, everyone pretty much stayed in the dance floor until we got kicked out. Can not recommend more.

Mike did an amazing job with both our ceremony and reception. The lighting also looked fantastic, AND he was able to book and coordinate with our photo booth people giving us one less thing to worry about. He did a fantastic job with the music genres we picked and our guests spent the entire night on the dance floor. Our venue staff even commented on how fun of a wedding it was for them to work! Mike and his team were absolutely incredible! Not only are they super cool, they are excellent at their jobs. The amount of guests that asked who our DJ was and “can I have the whole playlist” is too many to count. We trusted Mike to just do his thing and, as I told him, “read the room,” and he absolutely crushed it! Michael is passionate about what he does, he's got a great positive energy, and he can read the room like it's his super-power. IMO lighting is probably one of the most bang-for-your buck upgrades you can add to your event, and this team absolutely nails it! The Dancin' Shoes team was incredible to work with for our wedding from start to finish. They were communicative, professional, and extremely helpful in providing us with an inclusive song guide and uplighting options. The whole team took the time to respond to emails and hop on calls with us leading up to the event. And day of, Sean, made everything flow perfectly from his song transitions to MC announcements. We received many compliments on how much people enjoyed the music we had and how personable Sean was. Our dance floor was packed from the first song up until the very last song. Cate was the absolute star of our wedding. She was so wonderful to work with from start to finish, including assisting us with song selections for certain parts of the wedding (processional, recessional, etc.). We hired Mike from Dancin shoes for our wedding for DJ and lighting services. He absolutely crushed it and was an awesome MC and aligned with our music tastes perfectly. He does a super helpful questionnaire beforehand to get to know your music style and ensure everything goes perfect - from the ceremony music, cocktail hour, entrance song, and first dances everything went flawlessly. He also captures the night on Instagram which was so fun to watch back the next morning. The uplighting and personalized monogram transformed our wedding venue and made it absolutely perfect. She was a fantastic MC (especially with a lot of difficult names to get through!) and most importantly, kept everyone on the dancefloor until we were literally kicked off because the wedding was over. He was so professional and organized, it really was a relief to have him as a vendor because I knew I had nothing to worry about. My absolute favorite moment from our wedding was when he played Teenage Dirtbag, which had every single one of our friends on the dance floor, singing along. I cannot speak highly enough about the entire process of working with Dancin’ Shoes DJ and Lighting. From the beginning, they were very responsive and willing to work with us to customize our package to fit our budget. After we booked, we were sent a google doc, and my husband and I got to go through and list specific music choices, along with genres and artists we liked. Cate DJ’ed our wedding and she is so incredibly talented and professional. She helped to keep the entire reception on time, with introductions, toasts, and other announcements. She took the time to get to know my husband and I before our wedding, and that was absolutely reflected in the music she played. Everyone was immediately out on the dance floor and having a great time. I thought we’d have a challenge getting people out to dance, but the music was so fun that the dance floor was almost always filled. And the lighting was just perfect. We had the BEST experience working with Michael, he truly is one of the best in the biz! All of our wedding guests kept talking about how epic the dance party was and that was in big thanks to Michael. From the music to the up lighting, it was incredible. Michael was so easy to work with, very organized and he had great ideas to ensure everything went smooth day of. We had a large bridal party and he was up for the challenge of playing custom walkout songs for each couple and it was flawless. Incorporating my Italian heritage was also very important and he did a great job of playing a mix of that and normal songs to keep the dance party going. Music was SO important to us and we are so glad we hired Dancin' Shoes DJ! You will not regret it!

Mike and his team just absolutely crushed it and are probably our strongest vendor recommendation coming out of our wedding. We had a ~225 person outdoor wedding at a private property, with the wedding ceremony in the morning on the lawn/near the house, music playing in the afternoon, and a tennis court dancefloor a bit away from the ceremony spot. Mike did a great job selecting music based on our songlist while also reading the crowd and improvising, and he smoothly mixed together pop, oldies, and Indian music through the night—almost the whole guestlist stayed on the dancefloor until it closed. Mike also set up the lighting for our dance floor and the lawn, which looked beautiful, and handled sound for our ceremony and in the afternoon. He was flexible with adjustments, responsive to emails, and always worked within our budget/needs. 10/10 would recommend!

Cate completely knocked it out of the park with our wedding. She was extremely easy to work with the entire team, including some miscommunication (on MY part) that she promptly stepped in to smooth over. The lighting was fantastic, and the guests were dancing all night long. I really couldn't imagine a better DJ/MC and I would 100% choose Cate again if I did it all over again. Everything about her operation was smooth and stress-free, which is exactly what you want on a wedding day.

When I say that Michael and his assistant Carolyn were fire at our wedding, I feel like its an understatement. It was really important to my husband and I to have a DJ that could sense the energy in the room throughout our wedding day and keep the party going during the reception. Every once in awhile, if you are lucky, you have a customer service experience that truly makes a difference in your life. I had one of those experiences with Dancin’ Shoes DJ and Lighting. My dear friends were getting married and asked me to sing a song at their wedding. Of course I said yes, but to pull off the performance, this music entailed several notable challenges that were beyond me to solve. I needed help not just from someone with digital competence, but also someone with musical expertise. Much to my relief, Cate Osborn has both.
