ng to the perfect length. He also handled our ceremony music and made each part flow into the next seamlessly. As the bride, I also loved getting a thumbs up and a smile as I headed down the aisle! We filled out a questionnaire with some random songs we liked but Matt made them all better by mixing them all together perfectly to create the perfect flow and vibe. The vibe felt like us, but in a much cooler way that we could never have put together on our own. We have been bragging about him nonstop since literally every single guest has commented on how amazing he was. Many of them (including us) have plans to catch him at an upcoming show!! Matt is pure class, talent and a hell of a good time. I am so grateful to him for making our night so much fun!

That’s the best analogy I can give when trying to write a review about Matt Roan. Sure I could go on and on about how he’s the rare combination of intuition and experience, style and humility, kindness and confidence…. But that’s still selling Matt short. You have to have had the Matt Roan experience to catch my drift. He is by far one of the best DJ’s we’ve ever worked with, and that’s over 250 people considering my husband and I have been wedding photographers and videographers for 10 years. His professionalism and organization is outstanding. His curation to his clients is impeccable. He makes the most fun part of weddings even MORE exhilarating. And he’s got killer taste, in fashion and, more importantly, in music. Matt is, by far, the best decision we made for our destination wedding in Kauai. Everyone still talks about our dance floor and I give Matt 100% of the credit.
We knew he was good, in fact, throughout wedding planning I referred to Matt as our secret weapon, but all 140 guests were BLOWN AWAY by Matt’s joyous nature, sick beats, and dare I say ‘great vibes.’ Even my austere, 83-year-old, Japanese grandmother who makes everyone WORK for even the tiniest compliment said the Dj was her favorite part of the wedding. “He just was smiling the whole time, having a blast.” If Matt can win over the matriarch of my family, he can win over anyone. He’s an ingenious music man, but also a tremendously charismatic and positive MC, which is an often overlooked attribute in a great DJ. Hire Matt and join me in my rhapsodizing, or forever regret it and refer to him as, “The one that got away…”

Let's face it, wedding planning can be STRESSFUL. You're thrown into this entirely foreign process dealing with budgets, timelines and vendors, just hoping that the people you hire know what they're doing. Well let me tell you, Matt Roan KNOWS ...
WHAT HE IS DOING.
Matt was an absolute joy to work with during our planning process. He was insightful, experienced, and an actual nice human being. Knowing we had a million things to account for, my husband and I knew music was something that we did not have to worry about. Matt gave us the comfort and confidence in knowing that we were in good hands and he would take care of everything. And I will say, he most certainly did.
By the time of our big day, Matt was there ready to get the party going. From getting us mic'd up for our ceremony, to MC-ing throughout dinner, to then owning the dance floor during our reception — Matt brought it all. His remixes, transitions and music selections were exactly what my husband and I wanted. Our wedding turned nightclub kept everyone on the dance floor until our venue had to throw us out. And now, 6 months later, people are still commenting on how great the music was.
So if you're looking to "drop it like it's hot" for your wedding, you have to talk to Matt. He absolutely will not disappoint and you'll truly end up with a night you will never forget.

He was able to edit to perfection our ceremony music that came from the Pride & Prejudice soundtrack to accomedate over 20+ bridal party attandents. Additionally, he shortened one of the longest Father Daughter dance songs "Butterfly Kisses" keeping the importance of the message of the song so special for my Dad and I.

So many great things to say about DJ Matt Roan - where do I begin!! Firstly, leading up to the wedding, I can't stress how kind and professional Matt was. For my first venue, I was a little nervous about how the room should be set up for the bi...
g day. He kindly went out of his way to meet me at one of my venue tours to talk it all out and come up with the best solution. He also laid out his pricing for me, which was incredibly simple and easy to understand - exactly what you would want as a bride. Next, when COVID forced us to postpone our wedding, Matt was SO responsive about his availability and made it incredibly easy for us to switch our date without a hitch. He was ready to come party with us wherever, whenever. Finally, as the wedding day got closer, he worked with us to get our vibe down just right. He allowed us to share as many or as few songs as we needed, asked the important questions, made sure to get the correct versions of first dance songs - all of it - perfect! The whole time we worked together, he kept the conversation light and fun - which was so appreciated as a bride who has to coordinate so many vendors. Lastly (maybe the best part!), my sisters had actually reached out to Matt to help them create a special version of the song Fergalicious so that they could surprise me with a hysterical rap during the MOH speech - and Matt DELIVERED! The performance was absolutely epic and set the tone for the rest of the night, where we danced all night long to Kygo and upbeat jams. He was a great MC as well and not to mention, he has excellent style! We love Matt Roan and couldn't recommend him enough! You will not regret booking him!!

He is a true DJ with such a passion for music and talent for mixing and keeping the vibe you want! Matt was so great to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process, and was so flexible with us as we navigated our postponement due to covid. When it was finally confirmed that our wedding was actually going to happen in 2021, Matt was right there ready to pick up the conversations about music again and he was so helpful in thinking through parts of the day that needed music that we hadn't thought about, and how we wanted different parts of the day to transition to another. He helped us with some custom music requests, brought all the sound equipment, brought the party, and literally brought the house down until we were the last ones standing at 1am. Our guests loved the music too and it was a day, night, and dance floor we will never forget. We're so grateful to have had Matt DJ our wedding - can't imagine it being any other way! nervous about finding someone who could bridge the gap, but that’s actually why Matt was recommended. And he lived up to the referral and then some!
First, I have to also add that Matt is amazing to work with prior to the wedding, and it was never lost on us. I always looked forward to interactions with him. He was the only vendor we worked with that was always positive, professional, and never treated us like we were just a paycheck (which is such a necessary breath of fresh air during this stressful process). And in the days leading up, Matt was very responsive about all the small details we had yet to finalize – such as song choices, edits and timelines.
Day of, no surprise... Matt absolutely crushed it. We’d seen him spin before at a couple places in Chicago so we knew he was good there, but he was phenomenal as an MC as well. *And if you’ve ever been to a wedding with a bad MC, you know how crucial this is.
Further, as far as music during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner; Matt nailed it with timing and matching the vibe.
During the party it was clear that he was not just “pressing play and walking away”. Matt was a pro at riding the vibe while also making sure to play to everyone in the crowd.
One last thing I have to add, which speaks to Matt’s level of skill and professionalism. My father in law grabbed the microphone late in the night and got a bit carried away. For a moment I was worried that the vibe had died and the party is about to get cut short. Instead, Matt smiled and played along and even found a way to transition from what my FIL was saying into a song that got the party right back into it. I was blown away. I think everyone was!

Matt was amazing at our Wedding, He was great to work with leading up to the date. I would highly recommend him for anybody's wedding! After our event, I had a several people tell me that our DJ was amazing! Matt is the best!

ncredible DJ. Matt has all of the professional tables and gear, and he times the songs PERFECTLY so that no song lasts too long. His dance mixes and song combinations are INCREDIBLE and he had everyone out on the dance floor the entire evening. He traveled to our wedding in Cincinnati and having him DJ was one of the best decisions we could have made. I truly can't say enough good things about him!

Amazing DJ. Very engaged and attentive to the vibe of the night. He knows exactly what song to play and when, and the transitions between songs are unreal. Matt was the only choice for our wedding. It wouldn't have been the same without him...
