Kristie Herlong began her career in the film industry as a production designer, crafting immersive environments and visually driven narratives. That foundation in storytelling continues to shape her approach today—where each wedding is treated as a thoughtfully produced experience rather than a single day of décor.
After becoming a mother, Kristie relocated from New York to Ohio, where her creative work evolved beyond the screen and into physical spaces. What began as curated scenes in her vintage shop quickly grew into designing intentional, emotionally rich environments for weddings. Florals became a natural extension of that work, allowing her to layer texture, movement, and mood into every setting.
Kristie now approaches weddings much like a film production, with her couples serving as the directors and a trusted team of creatives bringing the vision to life. Every detail is considered, every space designed to feel cinematic, refined, and deeply personal.
Originally from Texas, with time spent in New York and now based in Ohio, Kristie is a mother of three boys, a devoted wife to a husband who builds custom props for her designs, and a proud dog mom. When she isn’t creating, she enjoys traveling with her family, listening to romance novels while she works, and cheering on her children at football, baseball, and track events.

ever, Kristie did an AMAZING job and the flowers looked PERFECT for the special day! She provided us with many opportunities to meet with her and follow up. Along with going the extra mile and delivering to two places and arriving on time. The flowers were perfectly matched to my daughters pictures but also included her own sense of style within the arrangements. The designers provided calmness and happiness on a crazy day and we couldn’t be happier with everything that was done!! Overall, I recommend Dorceys for any event but especially a wedding. Thank you again for all of your hard work!!!

me to the wedding week and day I felt the total opposite. I understand floral season can be busy but I felt pushed off to the side. I have included pictures to compare what I sent as inspiration versus what I got.
The arch was supplied by Dorcey’s which was great, but it wasn’t stained like the picture that was sent to me. I had been told something happened to the original arch so they made a new one for our wedding, but it wasn’t stained the same color as the original like she had specifically asked if I wanted. My flowers were so tiny on the arch with little variance in color unlike my inspiration picture.
My aisle way flowers looked so sad and disappointing. They looked like they were just slapped on the chairs upside down, literally.
My centerpiece flowers were suppose to be sprayed a blush pink. And I was under the impression the vases/bouquet was going to be much larger than they were. The table looked so empty and I would’ve added more to it had I known how small they were.
My cake flowers were wilted and the cake honestly looked better without them. My bouquet and arch flowers were also wilted before the end of the night.
I was so excited for the flowers to bring my vision together, but unfortunately this is where I felt disappointed the most my wedding day. Dorcey’s was the cheapest route compared to other places but I wish I would’ve invested more for my wedding.
