Hello! My name is Sean Davies. I am the founder and musical director of East Coast Soul. I am an alumni of Berklee College of Music, and thrilled to be able to work with the incredible musicians of East Coast Soul week after week for so much of the year. Our wedding was on New Year's Eve, a day that can be both overwhelming and challenging, but East Coast Soul rose to the occasion and absolutely nailed it—making it an unforgettable celebration.—everyone was raving about the energy, the professionalism, and the way the band kept the celebration alive throughout the night. East Coast Soul is the GOAT wedding band. We had 8 piece Soulsville ensemble and they were truly incredible - such amazing musicians. Our guests never left the dance floor - including older relatives. At this point, probably half of our guests have told us it was the best wedding band they had ever heard. They are also very professional - they helped smooth a potential issue seamlessly. Stop researching and book them now if you can - you won't regret it!

East Coast Soul brought the PARTY! They were absolutely incredible leading up to, during, and after big day. We had a 7 ensemble band, with three players for the cocktail hour. Leading up to the wedding day, East Coast Soul was organized, prompting us at all the right times to start thinking through our songs, order of events, and timing for the entire evening. They were professional while still being fun to work with and a great laugh. We loved their energy. The day of was absolutely seamless. They easily setup in the venue and were playing when we arrived at cocktail hour. The three players for that time was perfect, and they fit the mood and added to the whole ambiance nicely. During the dinner, they were organized and easily shifted through speeches, dances, and cake cutting. They ran the night for us! And lastly, but more importantly, they brought the energy to the dance floor! Their music was energizing and was able to get guests of all ages onto the dance floor (an important stipulation for us!). Our dance floor was PACKED for over three hours, and we even had some of the older folks who were tired sitting on the side watching the band perform they were that good. We can’t recommend them enough and are incredibly grateful for the wonderful memories they left us with!

Both my husband and I are musicians, and so finding a top notch band that was also willing to be collaborative in the performance was a must, and we couldn't have been happier to find ECS! We had the Stax Ensemble for our wedding and decided to go all out with a 10 piece band. It was literally the best dance band we and all of our guests felt have ever experienced. Even guests who usually feel awkward dancing said that from the first song onwards, the music hit just right and made it irresistible to get on the dance floor. Highly recommend them. We also had an outdoor ceremony that had some weather uncertainty, but their sound technician was willing to set up under a pop up tent and provided us with beautiful sound for the ceremony too. highly recommend yall!!

East Coast Soul performed at my wedding a few weeks ago and were absolutely excellent! Even before the wedding, Art and Sean were highly communicative and detail-oriented. We had an acoustic guitar at the ceremony, a jazz trio during cocktail hour and then an eight piece band for dancing - all of which were amazing. They also helped with all audio equipment throughout the entire event. Both during and after the event, ECS was the most talked about aspect of the entire day. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a band at any event. I hope to see them at some event in the future!

The guests quoted “best band I have ever seen at a wedding.” So, we booked them, and now, all of our guests are saying that is the best band they’ve ever seen at a wedding!! Communication was clear during the planning, making that process seamless. Music was incredible! Our dance floor was packed the entire time. The musicians are very talented. Phenomenal experience all the way around. They were extremely professional and detail oriented in their preparation, while not being too pushy or impatient. We felt very good about everything leading up to the wedding. On the day of, they absolutely crushed it. Phenomenal vibes from the band and a phenomenal performance. They were amazing, from the violin player for the ceremony, to the music during the cocktail hour and then on to the reception, they were spectacular! I highly recommend East Coast Soul and the ensemble Stax! We hired a 7 piece Stax ensemble for our daughter’s wedding and from start to finish they were a dream to work with. Important strong points for us as we planned: *great communication – easy booking process; clear payment guidelines; timely reminders at appropriate points in the lead-up to the day; amazing detailed and thorough questionnaire with every possibility covered and determined so the timeline for the day was clear; and an upbeat, reassuring, polite manner to all messaging. *accommodating – learned some new pieces for the ceremony and reception main dance set, pivoted to add a sparkler send-off two days before the event, provided various combinations of performers and sound (pianist at ceremony, mics for participants at ceremony, mellow cocktail music, and a rocking dance session) *performance – was like a concert and not just playing music for people to dance to at a wedding: fun to watch, lights for effect, and kept the dance floor busy. The Atlantic Ensemble was absolutely fantastic - exceeding our expectations in many ways! In fact, the whole East Coast Soul business model is excellent. I felt so comfortable knowing we were trusting the band selection in the hands of true professionals who take their role in the wedding team very seriously. But back to the band, I would want them as a band in my younger daughter’s wedding in a heartbeat, they were that good. Every single guest raved about them. Their talent was off the charts, and song set list was perfect! I loved how they seamlessly transitioned into the next song. They even took a special request from one of our guests for one of his favorite songs- Hey! Baby ( Bruce Channel) ECS worked with the band in preparation and planning to make our wedding truly special!

ECS was the perfect band for our ~170 person wedding. They worked with us to identify the right ensemble and had a very thorough intake form to document our preferences and day-of timeline. They were extremely organized and worked very well with our venue, and supported the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, toasts, etc flawlessly. Musically they brought down the house! We had the King Ensemble for our wedding and they were absolutely amazing!! Right from the beginning Sean and Art were great communicators and helped us create the vision for our music that felt right for us. During the day itself Marcus was an incredible band leader and helped guide us through the day while reading the energy of the room. Prior to our wedding the band coordinated with my sister (who had the band at her wedding two years prior) and my sister-in-law to surprise us with a song my sister-in-law sang for us at our wedding. It was one of the most meaningful moments of the evening! All of the band members were absolutely incredible and none of the guests wanted to get off of the dance floor (including us)! We are still getting feedback about how amazing they were and many of our friends and family want us to do a redo of the day just so they can hear the band again :)! If you are thinking of booking this band do not hesitate!!

Working with ECS (and specifically Soulsville) was such a great experience. I'm definitely a Type A, organized kind of person and when we first reached out we received an email back with all of the information we could possible need. Talking with Sean and Arthur helped seal the deal. Everything was so methodically thought out that I had no concern that something would fall through the cracks. And that's just on the organizing side. The band itself is incredible! My dad is a drummer and has been for the majority of his life so when we asked if he could sit in for a song or two they were more than happy to accommodate. It was easily one of the best parts of my wedding. The singers were amazing and the band knew the exact vibe to keep the party and dance floor going. I cannot recommend this band enough!!

My husband and I went to a wedding last year where East Coast Soul played and having just started our own wedding planning process at the time, we immediately came home and reached out to see if they could play at our wedding. Our guests could not stop raving about the music! My husband and I were both performers in a previous part of our lives, so having incredible music was TOP priority and East Coast Soul did not disappoint. They even let me come up on stage and sing a song with them which the crowd went absolutely WILD for. We had such a blast and they were great to work with during the planning process as well! They send a very detail oriented survey which I appreciated SO much - there were questions on it that I hadn't even known to think about, and I truly felt like they read it and planned their setlist for our night suited to our specifications. I do not have enough good things to say about East Coast Soul. They are truly, absolutely the best wedding band I've ever experienced and I don't think I'm biased in saying that. The band was truly one of our favorite parts of our day. The songs they played and the flow of the music were fantastic and the musicians were incredible. It just had so much life and it was so fun. Multiple people commented on how amazing the band was and I would highly, highly recommend them for any event in the future that needs live music. They are absolutely worth every penny. The entire process was seamless and the performance was AMAZING. One of the leaders of the band came up and introduced himself before the band played and I really appreciated that - it was nice to get to meet them. We had the Soulsville Ensemble and we would have them again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend!!

Absolutely Unbelievable! Not enough words to describe how incredible they were! Gave them a call as soon as we watched and listened to the Soulsville Ensemble's video online. Professional, Prompt, Transparent and Organized from day one. Each step went exactly how they laid it out. The big day could not have gone smoother or more seamless. The performance itself was spectacular. Had so many people come up to us raving about how great they were. The performers themselves, besides being incredibly talented, were super nice and interactive. The dance floor was full the whole night. Could not have dreamed of a better band for our special day. BOOK THEM!!! You will not regret it. The Soulsville Ensemble played at our wedding a few weeks ago and they were incredible. Dance floor was packed the whole night. The same ensemble always plays together and you can tell because they sound so cohesive. The band managers were extremely organized, they asked detailed questions to make sure our day went exactly as we wanted it and the band played the genres we like. The lead vocalist did a great job emceeing as well. Every musician and vocalist was so talented and we received so many compliments on the band. The night would not have been the same without them.

I hired East Coast Soul Stax ensemble for my wedding after seeing a different ensemble preform at my cousin's wedding several years prior. They absolutely KILLED it at our wedding! I do not have a single bad thing to say about the band. They captivated all our guests with their incredible voices and outrageous (in a good way) dance moves . Also, the band manager Art was super responsive via email, which is something I very much appreciated as I am a huge planner. It's been two months since our wedding, and our guests are STILL raving about East Coast Soul's Atlantic Ensemble! It can be hard to get people to agree on anything these days, but our guests uniformly told us the band was the highlight of our wedding! From the very beginning, we loved working with Sean and Art. They were always responsive to our questions and excited to bring our ideas to life. Their questionnaire provides an excellent roadmap for thinking through all of the important musical moments in a wedding day, making planning with them a breeze. As a result, Atlantic performed the perfect set to keep us and our guests dancing all night. They also made our ceremony special and our cocktail hour a classy, jazzy affair. We booked ECS Stax ensemble for our wedding at June Farms in the hudson valley. They were incredible to work with from the start to the last song. They're true professionals, know exactly how to read the room, and made our day as special as we wanted it. The King ensemble of ECS played at our wedding at the Woodstock Inn and I would 110% recommend! Their in-depth survey made it really easy to tell them exactly what we wanted for the reception. They think of all the details. They are also incredibly talented and had our whole party (guests ranging from age 2 to 88) dancing all night long!

The sound was perfect for our vibe, they played the perfect set of songs to fit each part of the night, and (most importantly) they kept the entire wedding on the dance floor the whole night! We can't thank them enough for being such an important part of our wedding! The band was also incredibly easy to work with - the FAQs on their web page lay out all of the necessary details/info clearly, the management team was quickly responsive and helped us figure out exactly what we needed for the perfect party, and the whole team was so professional. We had the Daptone Ensemble and they were incredible. Everyone was asking us how we booked them, they brought the life to the party. Leading up to the wedding, ECS was incredibly organized yet also laid back, making the entire process not stressful at all. I knew I could trust them on the big day to be perfect. I also really appreciated how the cost of the band was the all-in cost, and unlike other bands we talked to they do not try and create additional charges/fees out of situations.

I hired the Stax ensemble for my wedding at Artists for Humanity. As good as all their promotional material is, nothing compares to seeing them live. I spent all night on the dance floor. The hardest part for me was choosing whether to dance or watch the amazing show that they put on! I lost track of how many guests told me they've never danced so much in their lives, and I know some of them will be booking ECS for their future events. Having never been to a Boston wedding with a live band, I was nervous about who to hire. ECS won me over by being down-to-earth and having a wealth of footage from live shows. The only people I ever spoke to were musicians, since they're a collective and not owned by a management company. I would have hired them for their personalities alone, but now having seen them live, I can't imagine that there is a more talented and fun band out there. Sean and Art were so communicative and really made my vision come alive. They learned 3 new songs for me, including an addendum to the hora (which got rave reviews from everyone), all included in the original price. The contract was by far the most generous I saw in my research. You could have your wedding in someone's unfinished basement with catering by Domino's, but as long as you have ECS playing, your guests would leave happy. Do yourself a favor and book them now.

Easy to work with, communicative, and professional, and their performance was absolutely INCREDIBLE. Lost count of how many wedding guests asked for their info. Their musicality was on point and their energy was infectious. Everybody LOVED them. Could not recommend more highly.

10/5 stars! The Stax ensemble made our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and especially reception absolutely out of this world. Art and Sean made the planning/prep enjoyable and fun, and we have received endless compliments on just how FUN the band was! They were accommodating about our different musical requests and kept the dance floor packed the entire night. Hire them!!!!!

SO GOOD! 10 out of 10 would recommend. I heard East Coast Soul play at a wedding I attended a few years ago and knew if I ever got married, I absolutely needed them at our reception. They did not disappoint! Our dance floor was full all night and the music selection appealed to all ages -- from the youngest in attendance who was 16 to some of my older Aunts who had the time of their lives. I also have to say they made the planning process so easy by sending a very thorough FAQ doc our way months in advance and having us fill out a comprehensive form with all of our preferences, thoughts, etc. It was so helpful when mapping out our timeline for the night and figuring out what kind of vibe we really wanted!

We had East Coast Soul at our wedding in September and it was absolutely EPIC. Not a single person (including my grandmother!) sat down for the entire three hours. I can hands down say that the Stax ensemble was one of the most memorable parts of our wedding day! A number of friends and family came up to my husband and I and said that ECS/Stax was the BEST wedding band they have ever seen. Our guests even requested an encore :) They kept the energy high and the dance floor full the entire night. The 3 vocalists are extremely talented and will leave you impressed, and they can dance!!! From a professionalism standpoint, Sean and Art were extremely communicative and accommodating to our day-of changes. Their prep forms were simple, easy to fill out, and manage. And they worked with our venue on the coordination. Overall, I cannot recommend ECS enough.

AMAZING! We used the Daptone Band for our wedding and oh my gosh we are still raving about it! They were absolutely incredible. My husband and I are still talking about it and blown away and multiple guests came up to us during and after the wedding singing their praise! Art and Sean were also amazing to communicate with. They helped make the planning process so easy and communication was great. They answered all of our questions, coordinated with our venue, and helped make sure everything went smoothly. I could legitimately talk all night about how obsessed I am with East Coast Soul. They were our dream wedding band!! As a couple who loves music and cared a lot about our wedding entertainment, we could not have picked a better band than ECS. First of all, their managers (Art and Sean) are top notch - excellent communicators, very transparent, flexible, available. They made our entire 18-month planning process a breeze. Second of all, the information-gathering they do is incredible, and for those who are Type A planners, ensures that every moment of the night will run smoothly. Third of all, the MUSICIANS!! My goodness they are talented...they kept our 175-person crowd on the dancefloor ALL NIGHT. Motown, soul, funk, top hits, throwbacks - you name it, they nailed it. They even did an encore song after the wedding technically ended because no one wanted to leave the venue!! I'm already dreaming up the next event I need a band for so I can use ECS again...love you guys!

You won't find a better wedding band than East Coast Soul! We had the 7 piece Stax Ensemble for our 9/16/22 wedding, and they were absolutely incredible. Our dance floor was packed all night, and our guests absolutely LOVED them! They also learned our first dance song, which meant so much to us. Music was one of our biggest priorities of the day, and ECS far exceeded even our highest hopes! Anyone who books them is going to have an AMAZING time!

My husband and I got married 8.20.22 at WWC in Plymouth and hired the Atlantic Ensemble as our band. There are no words for how incredible they were - our guests are still raving about them! East Coast Soul was incredible!! We had the 8-piece King Ensemble at our wedding and they kept all of our guests dancing all night! Their energy was amazing, they had an incredible setlist, and were so open to our suggestions. They also performed for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and the quality was so high. The band was one of our top priorities and ECS absolutely delivered. One of the best wedding bands out there! The band managers we worked with for planning were also so responsive and helpful. You cannot go wrong with ECS!! Our wedding venue recommended them to us because we knew we wanted a live band that does more than just your standard wedding hits. From the start they were responsive, organized, and easy to deal with. The Stax band far exceeded our expectations! Not only were they great musicians and singers, but they were amazing entertainers, which is not typical of other wedding bands I've seen. Their performance was truly electric, with choreographed dances and musical solos that brought the house down. I think every one of my guests came up to me to say they were the best band they'd ever seen. Book them!

HIGHLY recommend! The King Ensemble played at our wedding and they were amazing!!!! One of our highest priorities at our wedding was to keep the dance floor packed all night long and it definitely was! They made our reception a huge success. So many of our guests asked us where we found such an engaging, energetic and fun band. They danced all night long with us. They followed our requests to a T and the band leader even checked in halfway through the night to make sure everything was going as expected. Easy Coast Soul was extremely easy to work with in the planning stages as well.
