Corey Eslinger's a generally nice person; he met with me to discuss lighting options for my wedding reception in Gettysburg. He gave me a quote; said "I don't do contracts; most brides just trust me." Is there a trial run to verify what lightin...g colors and arrangements will look like? No, just trust. I would not recommend just trusting. The price is a little too high for that. We paid over $1000 for a lighting package in a ballroom where they'd worked before. This price was high for us; maybe most clients do bigger orders. I'd seen beautiful pictures of the previous work they did in this ballroom--full and warm uplighting that showcased the room's architecture. We were going to do lighting like that; our budget was tight but we were going to do uplighting in place of a floral budget. I walked into the ballroom on the wedding day and saw what I can only describe as dinky-looking lights that were supposed to be golden-white uplighting, but looked like cheap DJ lights--a garish yellow color that split into red and green when the light beam hit the wall. So disappointing. $1000+ for frustration. I would have rated the experience lower, except that the Eslinger lighting staff stayed long enough to hear me hyperventilating about the display, and Dustin and his colleagues were *wonderful* about fixing what they could in the FIVE MINUTES before guests came in to take their seats. They rearranged the lights to hit some curtains and make some archway patterns. Nice job Dustin. The color was still off, but there was no way for them to correct that in so little time.
Overall: this company should use contracts, explain policies and pricing more clearly, DO A TRIAL before the event (at least to finalize colors!! duh?), and be more willing to discuss the design over the phone, etc. I got kind of an attitude when I asked about our pricing/design package. The main plus: they showed up, put some lights down, and their staff was nice.
Overall, for me, it was not worth the money.
