Our daughter was married on 10/01/22, and I was so thankful to have Jenn Dotson's, with Events by Kiersa, help from the beginning of planning a year ago! She went above and beyond to make sure the wedding was everything our daughter wanted it to be, even with Hurricane Ian threatening to wash out the day. Fortunately, it was rain-free, but Jenn was there the day before to make sure that we had alternate plans for the wedding site, planned for outdoors, and to make sure the reception space was reconfigured to accommodate all of our guests in the event they could not use the outdoor space as well. She was with us on the wedding day, guiding us every step of the way. I don't know how many times I said over the last year, "I don't know what I would do without Jenn," and that holds true today. I am beyond happy we chose Events by Kiersa for our month of/day of planning! We got married in May 2022 and worked with Jenn, who is a total rock star!!! Jenn was on top of it and for a Type A bride such as myself – I was relieved to give the reins to Jenn who made everything happen SO smoothly. My husband and I did not have to worry about a thing on the wedding day and she handled all of the details. Jenn had such a calming presence and a “make it happen” mentality. My family and friends kept commenting on how incredible she was. During the planning, Kiersa & Jenn provided a google sheet checklist (that was my saving grace), answered any questions we had and provided insights into vendors they’ve worked with. During the month of, we worked on a flow sheet for the wedding day that I was able to provide to our wedding party and family so everyone knew where they needed to be! For our rehearsal - Jenn met us in downtown Asheville the night before with our party to rehearse and collected anything that was needed . For cleanup, she packed our cars to be picked up the morning after, put my bridal bouquet in water and just overall made our lives so much easier following the wedding. Jenn was absolutely amazing!!! Kiersa and Jenn were absolutely amazing! We got married in Asheville and were from out of town, so having them to help us coordinate everything and give us suggestions for the area was absolutely essential. They saved us so much stress and so many headaches making sure that we had everything checked off throughout the planning process. Events by Kiersa was an answer to my prayers! I've done event-planning professionally, but this was my daughter's wedding. I figured I could plan it or enjoy it, but not both. I cannot say enough amazing things about Kiersa! We got married at The Farm in November and we and basically all of our guests were coming from out of town. We had started planning with Kiersa back in fall of 2019. Kiersa did an amazing job helping us from A-Z with planning our wedding and rehearsal dinner during all the wild times of the pandemic. Jenn was great to work with- she was highly organized, punctual, and extremely responsive to my needs. She helped connect me to a florist when I had trouble finding one. Jenn also coordinated any COVID-related adjustments seamlessly. Everything went smoothly on the wedding day, including adjusting any last minute changes.

When my daughter got engaged last October and we first spoke about what she and her fiance envisioned for their wedding, she mentioned that her friend who is an event planner had offered to be her wedding planner. My response…. I had waited a long time to plan my oldest daughter’s wedding, so no thank you! Jennifer, our “day of coordinator” hopped on board weeks before the wedding to organize all of the vendors and on the day of the wedding made sure that we could all forget about the details and enjoy every minute. Jenn seemed to be everywhere at once making sure the ceremony site and reception were arranged perfectly as planned while calmly steaming the wedding gown, pinning boutonnieres, and orchestrating a very special first look for the bride and groom. Kiersa is AMAZING. She is literally the reason that I was not stressed at all during our wedding day! As an out of state bride I could not recommend Events by Keirsa enough! Seriously!! We had the pleasure of working with Jenn throughout our wedding planning process. Jenn as a person is the perfect balance of laid back, efficiency, and professionalism. Jenn helped make planning a wedding from out of state, and on a shorter time frame, a breeze. She is incredibly easy talk to, and she was very responsive to emails and phone calls. I never felt like I was bothering her with questions or concerns. She has a gift of making a frazzled bride feel more at ease. Most of the vendors we used for our wedding were all at the suggestion of Jenn. She has this easy way of giving you suggestions and ideas while still giving you the absolute freedom to create the wedding of your dreams, which is so important in a wedding planner. The day of the wedding I got multiple compliments from the wedding party of how easy Jenn was to work with. If anything went wrong, I had no idea, she ensured our day ran smoothly from start to finish. We could not have asked for a better wedding planner and we could not recommend Events by Keirsa enough!

Kiersa was hands down the best decision we made for who we wanted to work with for our wedding. We chose a venue way out near Nantahala River that is not set up as a venue at all. In fact, they don't normally even host weddings or large events! We cannot say enough good things about Events by Kiersa. Kiersa and her team are amazing! They have a variety of different packages to meet every couple’s needs. While the majority of our communication was with Kiersa, everyone we interacted with in her office was professional and knowledgeable about our wedding and our specific needs and wishes. Our wedding package was mostly month-of but Kiersa made sure to check in with us throughout the planning process - scheduling lengthy meeting to make sure we were on track - and was always there to answer our questions whenever they popped up! Kiersa and her team went above and beyond the week before and day-of our wedding! They were there whenever we needed them day-of and were constantly checking in to make sure our drinks were full and everything was going the way we wished. Although they were constantly there when we needed them, they also had an amazing talent of blending into the background and not being overbearing. All staff that worked our event made sure they space was flawless when guests arrived - candles were lit, music was playing, food was ready, etc.. We never had to worry about anything! My wife and I are at the stage of our lives where there are a lot of weddings to attend. Kiersa and Jenn were the glue the held our wedding weekend together. From the very beginning of the planning stages they were so easy to work with and guided the process in a very kind and supportive way. Every proposal and inquiry was met with a “yes” and “can do” attitude - these gals get it done!!! The weekend of our wedding couldn’t have run more smoothly - and this was in a mountain area with zero cell reception! I don’t know how they do it but they make everything seem effortless and are 100% reassuring throughout the process.

Every vendor she recommended was outstanding. I was definitely interested in more big picture planning rather than getting stuck in the weeds. Jenn and Kiersa graciously stepped in to handle the small details. The day if they made everything so smooth! No big things came up because they were so on top of everything and any small thing that came up was handled quickly and subtly. I could not recommend them more highly!

Kiersa and her team are incredible. My review will not do them justice, but I will try. My husband and I wanted to have a weekend long wedding on his family's land in the NC mountains. Its seclusion is what is so meaningful to us, but it certainly isn't your typical wedding venue. However, no feat was too big for Kiersa's team and they helped us make all of our crazy ideas come true. We were able to turn our rustic land into a comfortable, romantic, fun location for three days of events. They helped us navigate everything from a giant tent, to bathrooms, to bringing in electricity, to delicious food service, to bonfires -- all from scratch in the middle of the woods. Their recommendations for musicians, caterers, transportation services, floral designers, trash removal and more were all spot on. And we planned all of this from 500 miles away! Kiersa and her team were always available when we were in town to help us pack in as much planning in an efficient and fun way. When we weren't around Kiersa and her team were always great about communicating with us, keeping us on task, and getting a million things done behind the scenes. Perhaps above all, Kiersa is a delightful human being. Spending time with her was always a pleasure and every single vendor we interacted with mentioned how much they love working with Kiersa. She is always calm, positive, upbeat, and on top of every detail. We trusted her instincts when it came to the best way to approach any problem that came up. She was always able to calm our nerves and guide us to the right decision for us without ever being overbearing or pushy. When it looked like rain was coming for one of our events she said (and meant): "It's up to you and we can do whatever you want," but she ultimately guided to the best decision by far and that night's event turned out so much better than we ever dreamed. I cannot write a review that encapsulates just how wonderful Kiersa and her team are! Kiersa & Jen were with us throughout our entire wedding process, and they were were present, attentive, and communicative. They went above and beyond to create a wedding celebration that was beautifully genuine to my spouse & I as a couple. Everything about our wedding felt like it was truly 'us' and Kiersa was really the one that made that happen. We planned most of the wedding from afar and Kiersa was our boots on the ground. She saved us time, money, and LOADS of stress. We truly could not have had the experience we did without her. On our wedding day itself, she kept everything running smoothly. At one point she made me 3 separate plates of food because I kept forgetting to eat. We had bad weather, she had a plan & handled it. She was on a different, wedding-planners-only level. Kiersa is a gift for anyone that gets to work with her. When people ask us how stressful wedding planning was, we get to say "Not at all!" -- and Kiersa's the reason for that. Without Kiersa, our marriage would still be great, but our wedding wouldn't have been anywhere near as awesome!

Since we were having our wedding in Highlands, NC and lived in FL, I knew I wanted to invest in a wedding planner. After speaking with 4 other planners, my call with Kiersa stood out thanks to her calm demeanor, the way she seemed to truly listen as well as ask pertinent questions. A few months before the wedding, we had to find an entirely new wedding venue. Kiersa never seemed rattled or concerned which kept me feeling like it was all going to be AOK. When our wedding weekend arrived, she worked seamlessly with the venue, officiant, bridal party, dj, etc. Several of our guests also commented on how impressed they were with her! I am so happy I found her and she was there for it all. I felt like she had my back and TRULY cared about the planning process. Kiersa is amazing at what she does. We had an incredible wedding. It was so much fun and filled with love. Because Kiersa was so on top of everything, all my partner and I had to was enjoy each other. Kiersa was so on everything and the entire day went smoothly. She is so knowledgeable and helped us plan for so many of the small details we didn’t think about. Also, she is just a great and kind person. Kiersa is amazing! I hired her a year out from my wedding for her full planning services. It was really easy to add and subtract services to make our final contract. We had already started visiting vendors on our own prior to hiring her, but when we mentioned we were going to hire her, everyone seemed to know her and how great she was. They all gave glowing reviews and we knew we had made the right choice. She suggested wonderful vendors for our DJ, officiant, photography, flowers, and cake. She was great at taking our budget and suggesting vendors who fit those needs. I felt like over the year of planning I changed my mind on so many different things, but she was great at going with the flow and making everything come to life. The week leading up to the wedding, she had everything with our vendors in place and ready to go. Kiersa was incredible the weekend of the wedding. We started setting up prior to our rehearsal, and she helped get everything in place. We even had a bit of a crisis while decorating, but she was quick to come up with a solution. She found exactly the items we needed and even stayed behind to set up while we went to our rehearsal dinner. She also took it all down after the wedding so we weren't even charged! The day of the wedding, everything went even more smoothly than I could have imagined. It felt wonderful to sit back and know that everything was running smoothly. She was absolutely fantastic and a wonderful person to work with. I would recommend her over and over again. Honestly, I feel like I didn't pay her enough for everything she did! If I could give her a score over five stars, I would. I very highly, highly recommend Kiersa!

Kiersa was absolutely wonderful and worth every penny! Kiersa went above and beyond in every single request we had of her. Hired mainly as a day-of coordinator, she still reached out and coordinated all of our vendors to ensure that they were on-board with our wedding day plan. Kiersa was also solely responsible for decorating our wedding venue (a champagne cellar) without about 200 different candles. With few directions and not having seen any of the decorations prior to the wedding, Kiersa absolutely brought our vision to life and made the room breath-taking. Kiersa also handled last minute changes like a champ and took every suggestion and question we had with a smile and genuine desire to help us! If you are getting married in the Asheville area, you would be missing out if you didn't hire Kiersa for your wedding!

My wife and I held our wedding and reception just outside of Asheville while we were living in Chapel Hill and Durham, and Kiersa took wonderful care of us in coordinating and executing both events. She set our minds at ease with her professional approach and expertise, but really won us over with her personalized touch. If I could give Kiersa 10 stars out of 5, I would! My fiance and I decided that we wanted a fall weekend wedding in Asheville (peak wedding and tourist period) -- the only problem was that we got engaged 5 months prior to our wedding date and we live halfway across the world in South Africa. Kiersa was a lifesaver. I wish I had found her sooner than I did! She helped us craft our vision for the weekend so perfectly! She was always professional, organized, communicative and most of all was available to Skype or email throughout the entire 5-month period. When you spend that much time working with someone, it's always better if you get along and Kiersa has one of the most pleasant, friendly and calming personas you can ask for. It was truly a pleasure working with her! Both the process and the end-result (the most beautiful, perfect wedding and weekend events) were fantastic. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Kiersa! When we first were planning our wedding with 250-260 guests, we thought we could handle it all since we are older and are local Asheville people. Thank goodness our caterer contact (Rachel from Corner Kitchen) kindly and gently suggested we might need some help! We chose Kiersa to help us. She was organized, thoughtful, experienced and calm, calm, calm. Her contacts in the area were especially helpful (flowers, sound guys, rental companies, caterer for rehearsal, etc). Sometimes it is hard to let “professionals” handle things you think you are capable of handling but it is the nicest thing to do for yourself AND for your guests to turn over some of the planning. Kiersa helped us with the actual ceremony (who goes when, where people get seated, getting guests to gather) and it turned out beautifully. We also needed guidance and direction on the reception layout (staging chairs and tables, tent location, table decorations, placement of band). She also helped us keep track of our contracts and kept in constant contact with the folks we hired. We had strong opinions on certain parts of the ceremony and reception, of course – and Kiersa respectfully listened. If she had a differing thoughts on what would work best, she told us gently. In the end, we had EXACTLY what we wanted, with the fine tuning of a pro involved. What else more would you want? She will be the new person in your life that you will want to know forever.

We can't say enough good things about Kiersa. Even though we hired her for only day of coordination, she went above and beyond even before our special day. She was calm, cool, and collected - absolutely what I needed with all the wedding planning stress! I DIY-ed so much of my wedding, and she helped pull everything together and make our day perfect. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Kiersa was our wedding planner for our wedding in May of 2015. I honestly do not even know how to describe how incredible and invaluable Kiersa was in the entire process - from planning to execution. She took the stress out of the process, kept us smiling and laughing throughout it all, and allowed us to focus on the celebration and our family and friends on the actual day. Kiersa truly listened to what our vision was for our day and, through her hard work, the day far exceeded our expectations. Kiersa shines when the stress gets high (at least our stress, she never showed stress). We had a plan a caterer fell through at the last minute, Kiersa had an even better contingency caterer locked in and ready to deliver. She has the relationships locally to handle anything. I cannot say enough about Events By Kiersa. I would use her again for any and every event I could if I lived in the Asheville area and had an event planner need. She is a joy to work with.

Kiersa went above and beyond any expectations we could of had as our day of coordinator. We connected early on in the planning process and spent nearly a year prepping with contracts etc. Kiersa made sure everything was very organized and even helped us fix a vendor hiccup that took place just 8 days before the wedding! Everything went very seamlessly–from the standpoint of the bride and groom– but you never know what vendors deal with on the down low! We had a wonderful wedding day and it was a pleasure to have Kiersa there with us throughout the entire day!

Granted, we've only gotten married once, and haven't been intimately involved in any other weddings, but we'd be hard-pressed to say that Kiersa isn't the best wedding planner ever. Not only does she take care of everything before it even dawns on you to think about it, but everything is handled with seemingly effortless grace. From delivering home runs on the few things we cared about, to taking care of everything else that we didn't really feel like thinking about, Kiersa excelled in pretty much every arena of wedding planning. (And she didn't bat an eyelash over the fact that our wedding was highly non-traditional and we didn't care for most of the standard wedding trappings.) If you're reading this, you're probably looking for a wedding planner. If that's the case, your search should probably be over - just call Kiersa now. Other than getting married, hiring her was probably the best decision we made in the past year.

I am so very glad that we chose Kiersa as our wedding planner! She is bright, imaginative, and fun but in such a low key, warm sort of way, that everyone liked her immediately. She made our son's wedding a dream come true for the both the bride and groom. Kiersa was the person that actually was able to figured out what the bride was hoping for in her heart and soul for her wedding day. She was able to articulate those ideas and dreams, and helped us make them a reality. She kept everyone on track, found the perfect caterer, the ideal venue, and met every challenge ( and we had quite a few challenges - bride and groom living in another part of the country, bride's family traveling to the wedding from overseas, an enchanted forest/medieval/renaissance theme, several people with food allergies, and both families full of engineers, in other words, dealing with people that are very detailed oriented) with charm, wit, patience, and a dedication to the entire family that was amazing. One of the best thing about Kiersa is that she actually listens to her clients and she has a natural friendliness that makes it easy to talk to her. She always returned phone calls and emails quickly, and was extremely flexible when it came to scheduling visits to venues, tastings with the caterer, planning sessions, etc. AND she did all of this while pregnant and then delivering her second child!!! Just totally amazing. I totally credit Kiersa with helping me maintain my sanity throughout the planning and execution of the wedding. We couldn't, and wouldn't have made it without her expertise.

Kiersa is the most wonderful mix of relaxed, positive, and totally professional. I was hesitant to hire a wedding planner because they have the reputation for being type A and controlling, but working with Kiersa was a pure joy. From the get-go, she completely understood the vision we had for our party, and she worked tirelessly and cheerfully to make all of our dreams for our wedding weekend come true. Ours was a full-weekend event, which involved several of her staff members, who mirror her professionalism and relaxed positivity in every way. There is not a single element of working with Kiersa that I would have changed; every step of the way felt relaxed, professional, tasteful, inspiring, and fun! We wanted to make sure our daughter and her future in-laws and we really enjoyed their wedding day and didn't have to worry about the details - and we had a lot of details for their wedding! Ours was a destination wedding so it was important to be able to rely on someone local to sew the wedding ingredients together and it became clear early on that we needed someone outside the families to take on that role. As an event planner myself, I know the work that goes into behind the scenes efforts . . . the things that no one ever sees or knows about, the could-have-been-a-disaster situations, the anticipation of things that could go wrong. In every aspect of our work with Kiersa Holy - from my first phone conversation with her and Kiersa's first connection with our daughter who was then across the globe . . . all the way through the last moment and detail of the reception and beyond - it was a pleasure. Kiersa helped make the planning and wedding day fun and helped smooth over rough spots that could have been difficult to navigate without her. Kiersa is a true professional in every way; prompt with replies, on top of things we hadn't even thought about, very organized, able to deal with personal issues and needs charitably - and with the greatest of care and we were actually sorry to see our relationship with her understandably come to an end. Just as she became like a friend to those of us involved with the planning, she is treated like a member of the family by the staff at the venue (The Farm), and in fact our first site visit was a busy day for them so they had Kiersa show us around because she knows the place well, their policies, and limitations and from having done many weddings and events there before. I was one of those brides who originally did not see the full value of spending money on a wedding planner, and boy was I wrong! Kiersa was a joy to work with and was extremely patient, kind, creative and organized! Because we did not get married at a traditional venue, the space did not come equipped with rentals, or staff, or any of the basics. Kiersa was instrumental in transforming our space into the beautiful setting that it was and making sure that everything got set up properly. Prior to the wedding she set up our rental orders, came up with a layout of the space, made recommendations for vendors, and was always available to answer our endless questions! She truly went above and beyond. Our wedding was seriously the best day ANYONE has ever had - and Kiersa was the one behind the scenes making it all happen. Planning a wedding out of state can be a challenge, and from the very beginning, Kiersa made it all seem so easy and stress free. My daughter lives in Boston, but was being married in Asheville. I never even considered that we would require the services of a planner. My much wiser daughter knew better and contracted with Kiersa to serve as her "Day of" coordinator. I had no idea how critical she would be to the success of our wedding. I came to rely more and more on Kiersa's expertise as we became mired down in the minutiae involved in the final days of wedding preparation. We received prompt replies to all of our questions, the benefit of her many connections to other vendors, and her discretion in helping to plan a surprise for the bride and groom at the reception. It was a tremendous relief to release details to Kiersa and just enjoy our special day. She had answers to questions we did not think to ask, she was always available, but never obtrusive, and positive even while standing in pouring rain.

I recently worked with Kiersa Holy to provide day of coordination services for my August wedding. I was very concerned about working with a coordinator since I had a specific view of my wedding. Since my husband and I lived outside of Washington, DC, we determined that having a local source for vendor recommendations and to assist in the last month of prep would be invaluable. Kiersa was a recommendation from our wedding location's staff. They love working with her, and so did we! She was exactly what I needed - someone who could be incredibly organized leading up to the event while remaining cheerful and low stress. She was incredibly helpful with vendor recommendations, making sure we worked with great providers and getting us discounts wherever she could help. She prevented a few minor disasters by finding things that weren't clearly worded in our contracts (renting ovens for the caterer, for instance!). On the day of the wedding, she was a joy. We did an early walk through so she could oversee the set-up. She managed to completely transform the space and keep our families on task and happy. For my husband, one of his favorite parts of the wedding was seeing Kiersa come running down toward us after the ceremony. She was so happy for us she was skipping. It really warmed our hearts that someone we hired professionally could be that enthusiastic about that moment in our lives. Throughout the reception, she was available but discreet. Everything went perfectly and she was easy to find if anyone needed something. When one of our guests had a medical emergency, she was quick to handle the situation. We received MANY compliments afterward about how effective she was. Our guests were able to migrate outside to where the bar was set-up, giving the family and the EMTs enough privacy to work. The entire situation took 15 minutes and couldn't have gone better if we had planned for it. The party continued without a hitch! I can't recommend Kiersa Holy highly enough. Her services were entirely worth her fees, and so much of our wedding success was due to her efforts. Our wedding was a great event for our guests, and thanks to her, it was a great event for my husband and I. We were completely present during the whole event, we had no stress, and we were able to fully enjoy time with our friends and families.

In all of my wildest dreams I could not imagine a more beautiful, intimate, and perfect wedding. So much of the success of my wedding day is attributed to having Kiersa, the most amazing wedding planner. We hired Kiersa for day of wedding planning, but she was so much more than that. We met several times before, even after, she contacted so many people prior and was there to answer any questions (vendors, settings, lighting etc.) small or large throughout the process. The entire wedding day from start to finish ran unbelievable smooth. Kiersa was there from the early morning to the late evening keeping everything on track. Timing was right on for every detail. Kiersa never missed a beat. If there were any troubles or snags behind the scenes you would have never noticed. Even my sister who has done wedding/event planning for over 15 years will say the same. One of the things I loved the most was that during the day of the wedding she had the perfect balance of knowing how to keep you informed of how everything was shaping up, I knew that things were coming together but I was not overwhelmed with questions or details, so my process of getting ready was stress free! In the beginning stages of planning for our wedding we went to a local wedding show, and I had met several wedding planners. I met with a few, the over bubbly type, had many ideas of their own (that I am not sure were aligned with my vision) and that you feared may crumble under pressure. Kiersa is a gem in her field. She is sweet, caring, breeze to work with. She is organized and knows how to make things happen and get the job done. She is not frazzled easy and she also understands how to let someone else's vision come to life. She will offer you help, suggestions, and advice in how to make your dream wedding come to life, but she will in no way alter that vision with her own ideas. Her person-ability makes it easy for you and everyone else involved to work with her. Most of our other vendors were familiar with Kiersa and they all love working with her, which is extremely important and making such a production run smoothly. Bottom line Kiersa is worth much much more than she charges. There is a sense of relaxation and ease that comes with having Kiersa involved in your event that is truly priceless. She will cover all the details so that you can actually be present in the beautiful union that is taking place. My husband and I both feel that she was one of the largest keys to our successful day and are so thankful to her!
